Christada Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 Could use some help getting a new chain I have stock sprockets and know I need a 520X104 chain But I'm not sure which one to go with Theres a bunch on Rocky Mountain ATV ranging from 29.99 to 90 bucks I was thinking about this one- http://www.rockymountainatv.com/productDet...odFamilyId=2081 but I wanted to check here before I ordered it. Thanks Also will it matter much if I went with a steel rear sprocket over an aluminum one? I just ride dunes mostly and recreational Quote
rtcc Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 I am running the Primary Drive kit from RMATV.com I run the gold X ring chain and steel sprockets. I have heard from most people to run the steel sprockets cause you will eat through the aluminum ones. I havent run anything but steel but I think sand is pretty hard on sprockets. They have whole kits on there cheap, and its usually a good idea to change out the sprockets with the chain. Quote
jbooker82 Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 I run RK GB520EXW It is a gold plated o ring chain. It has a 8,500 tensile strength. http://www.rockymountainatv.com/productDet...odFamilyId=3591 For a front sprocket I would buy a good sprocket. Primary dirve front sprockets are 8 bucks. I would get a little better one my self. It takes the most wear and abuse. http://www.rockymountainatv.com/productDet...dFamilyId=23006 Quote
