I went to a motorcycle shop tonight (cycle parts west)

they have elka shocks (no reservoir).. lone star +2 a arms.. and the brake lines for $1,000

Sound like a good deal?

Sounds like a good deal especially with elka's they have the best prices around that is where i buy most of my gear although i found and bought the stock yfz arms and shocks for $200 locally so i couldn't pass it up.

What do you guys think about using the +1 gytr 450 arms on a banshee ? And would they work with stock yfz shocks ? It would really be about 3inches wider on a banshee right ? I found a set I can buy for what I can sell my stock yfz 450 arms for. Thanks

So if I just bought a set and had them rebuilt I wouldn't have to worry about anything to get them to work on my wicked +2+1 arms? Like most people I worry about any unwanted stress.

i run yfz 450 shocks on my 2001 banshee with stock a-arms.it did raise my bike about an inch but i'm a big guy(285) and it actually helped my ride out'but i have broke down and bought some fullflights plus 2 and it rides even better!!but you do have to mod your frame just a bit to give the res some room and get the bolts line up.very easy though yfz450 shocks on stock a-armsyfz450 shocks[/url] take a look

Take the shock apart. Part of the rod on a lathe. Shorten, the through-rod hardware accordingly, and then reassemble. :geek:

i know old post.

but that is what i was think how to short shocks

cause there is no way i can find stokc 45cm yfz450 shock hell even 41cm one from the yfzr wont fit. my 1988 banshee on max could fit 40cm maybe the A arms be on there max max with no play left.

but i was thinking about maybe i can shorten the yfz450 shockswith cuttting the rod and a bit of the spring. to make it about 36-38cm long.

cause any after market shocks aare 1000€ 2nd hand and new 1500-2000€ STILL cause 37cm is not common... i can gett cheaper 42-46cm shock for like 500-800€ all day but anything baanshee raptor warrior 350 size nah hella expensive... almost better of new for only 500€ more but i donttt feel like spending a month of my salarly on shocks and 450yfz shocks can be found for 150-220€ 2nd hand...
