DallasGDub Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 Can I run pump gas (93oct) with 20cc domes, dune port, +4 timing? OR Is it 21's? Quote
shee4speed Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 whats your compression?and your elevation? Quote
DallasGDub Posted January 16, 2009 Author Report Posted January 16, 2009 600-1000', not sure on the compression yet. Just now sent the juggs off to HRJ. Just trying to see if I could ball park it for dome size order. Jumping the gun a little. I will wait to get it all together and test the compression to get a better idea. Quote
okbeast Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 Compression will vary quite a bit with the porting too. With my HJR dune port I noticed compression was a bit lower with the size of domes I had compared to other bikes. I'd ask Kevin what his advice is since he's doin it. Quote
magz Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 (edited) im running, 20cc domes, +4 timing and 93 octane with no problems at all, passion port, i rebuilt my motor about 7-10 hours ago, im blowing like 135 psi, but its stonger then hell when im ripping down the dunes... DallasGDub Posted January 18, 2009 Author Report Posted January 18, 2009 Yeah Kevin said it all depends on my compression as well. I just wanted to be prepared for when my jugs get back. I got 20's now, but was thinking of ordering 21's just to make sure I have on hand to roll it. I hate having new mods, and not being able to test drive it. LOL... But if people like Mags are getting away with 20's down here, then I will be set. Jeff also said I should have no problem as well. So I am sure it will be ok. I will know for sure soon....I am hype to get this bike back together. Quote
CBAIER1206 Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 I say when in doubt...run race gas or at least a mix. Trying to save money and run regular gas might cost you more in the long run when you mod a shee, like blown rings, pistons, cylinders, etc. Quote

With porting, your CCR will drop a bit so give it hell on 93. We have plenty of them on the sand with a similar setup without problems. Brandon Quote
kawiking Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 i had a mild port and .030 shaved head... around 20-19 dome. 135 comp i believe it was. i ran c-12 50/50 with pump gas. im in east texas.. 300ft above sea level. u should be fine with 20 on 93octane. if not, u can back ur timing down a hair if needed Quote
rajaa11 Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 Gdub, I'm running 20cc domes on a MX port, +4 timing, bored .40 over, compression is 165 psi. I live in florida and I run 93 oct, mixed at 40:1 and my bike runs fine. Quote
DallasGDub Posted January 19, 2009 Author Report Posted January 19, 2009 Well it is all good to hear. I am taking all the notes and advise. No worries, I will test the comp before I run anything. As hype as I am, I will not get it all put back together and have it WOT down my street....LOL....baby steps.... .................maybe 3/4 throttle.jk I can't wait to post the pics of before, during, and after. The threads and the people on here made it possible. Many people have saved me cash, others have saved me from mistakes. Quote
