I have a buddy that has a 1995 banshee it has less than 300 hrs on it all stock no mods at all well maint. I can pick it up fo $2000 this bike is really clean paint and plastic and seat is like new! I have never had a 2 stroke before are these bikes reliable? and what do I need to know before I buy ? Quote
Handyman Posted January 3, 2009 Report Posted January 3, 2009 Welco the HQ....yes these bikes are reliable if properly maintained...For an all sotck bike that's not too bad...to really wakw the bike up the first thing I'd do is buy an exhaust...toomeys, Pro Circuits, are about the best there are other brands out there for diffferent applications of riding...The main thing you have to ask yourself is what kind of riding will you be doing and then we will be able to help in the right direction and let you know what's out there....the other thing I'd do is get rid of th T.O.R.S.(Throttle Over Ride System) Do a search on that and you will have all the answers you need. The TORS is the root of alot of the little issues with the banshee. Any question you have can be answered here... In fact any question you have has probably already been answered...Just use the search function and you will be amazed ay what you find. Quote
arfountain Posted January 3, 2009 Report Posted January 3, 2009 welcome to the site, if you are good buddies with the guy and know the quad already, you can't go wrong. There's nothing worse than buying an unfamiliar quad. But be prepared, if you stick around this site you will be upgrading in no time, this is the most addicting site ever, and you already know you will want to go faster. Once again, welcome to HQ. blaster2006 Posted January 3, 2009 Report Posted January 3, 2009 $2000?????? 300 hrs? lolz. sounds like its free... thats so cheap.. for 300 hrs on it. i would buy it right now for 2300 if i was in the states... well yeah, they are reliable. as in 2 strokes, got a blaster, and ive had it for almost 2 years, engine runs mint. i serivced myself all this time till now by just changing the oil and spark plugs ( piss easy). and only sent it once for a full service with carb cleaning at the service center. imo much easier than a 4 stroke to self service. buy it.
