garyh58 Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 (edited) hi guys, im new here and i have a little issue with my banshee i recently changed the headgasket because i was blowing a ton of white smoke out of one exhaust... that went smoothly and i went to start it up again and it ran but when i gave it full throttle it booged way down.. it felt like it only went 1/4 of the way up to full throttle.. its cold outside since i last rode it and thought that was the issue so i rode it and it took full throttle and riding the clutch to go maybe 10 mph any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated ~Glen Edited October 30, 2008 by garyh58 Quote
Handyman Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 Welcome to the HQ...I would first make sure all the head boltsa are nice and tight lke they should be. The white smoke may not have been a head gasket and could have been another issue altogether unless you did find the gasket messed up. Also use the search feature(if you havben't already) and you may find more than you are looking for and could find the exact fix you are looking for.. Quote
garyh58 Posted October 30, 2008 Author Report Posted October 30, 2008 yeah all the bolts are torqued to spec... it ran perfectly before i did this... no clue  Quote

screamin_banshee_2003 Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 lol do u mean the shee bogs when hitting the throttle and doens't rev either in 1/4 throttle or Wide open throttle. lol if yes then the parking brake where is the clutch need to be lubricated. it may get sticky by sand or other etc... u just have to make sure when you are hitting or releasing the clutch the parking brake won't move with it and it should be completly shut. Quote
dragbanshee Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 In other words the TORS if you still have the stock carbs check all the wiring going to the carbs. And get you a clymers manual when you get a chance, you'll need it. BTW......Welcome! Quote
garyh58 Posted October 31, 2008 Author Report Posted October 31, 2008 did you take anything else off besides the head? nope... just the cover.. and the spark plugs.. thats it Quote

I had the same thing happen. My buddy shut off the fuel when we were transporting it, and I didn't know that, cause I never do (it's never enclosed, and I don't haul it to far). It took me a while to get it running, lol. Quote
