Head Gaskets reusable?

I know, its not about the cost but more over about waiting to pick up a new one. I Installled the cylinder with a new gasket and realized I forgot something...... had to pull the head back off soo.. can I re use the one time squished gasket? or do I need to replace after every peek into the cylinders? Yes it was torqued into place =(

Its a copper gasket.

Thanks in advance

I wouldnt..... I always keep a few spares.

If you do, do a compression test and a leakdown test, if they work out, then you should be fine. Also make sure it doesnt ooze coolant either.

I personally have not had good luck with copper head gaskets anyways, new or otherwise. They would leak compression into the water jackets and blow all the water out. thats my 2 cents....

Yeah...... ( heavey sigh ) I shouldnt risk it, just rebuilt the internal parts and I'd hate to be hasty now......dirty P word, Patience =(. Thanks for the replies folks.

Yea I'll look into better gaskets as well.
