bansheejoel Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 if you guys could give me a rough estimate, how much hp could someone expect from a stock stroke, agressive dune port, cpi inframes, compression bumped to say 150psi, v-force 3's, and ignition advanced +4. Also how much would you gain from the same setup but a 4 mill. Thanks. Or if someone could give me a idea whats all involved in getting up to around 65-70hp... Quote

2004LEBanshee Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 A good port job could get you close. Quote
Wildcardracing Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 You will be lookin at @60-65hp with the stock stroke setup and roughly 65-70 peak with the 4mil but more bottom and mid as well. Depending on the builder. Quote
Snopczynski Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 I did a search, check this link out. It should give you a general idea of what amount of parts and money is involved for a ported bike. A 4 mill will add more power everywhere and more torque. Not sure exactly how much though. dajogejr Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 (edited) As said, Joel....all depends on the porting. Being a MI boy...here you go... I'm sure the big names, Rob @ RDZ and Dan @ A&S are kinda busy.... Give Bob @ RB Porting a call. He's by Lansing (couple hour drive) and his motor work is very affordable, nice guy.... 517-388-3662 If I didn't want to wait a while, wanted a trusted local builder in MI....and wanted a good runner, he's who I'd go with for sure!!! You'll need 28mm carbs to 33's. Some CPI or T5s would be nice...and a good dune port will get you there. Once you start getting much more aggressive...you're going to run into beefing up the clutch, tranny....way longer swingarm...stiffer shock...etc. Edited August 27, 2008 by dajogejr Quote
bansheejoel Posted August 27, 2008 Author Report Posted August 27, 2008 thanks everyone for the input i appreciate it....i have the +4 swinger and fast clutch but will i need a lockup and override? thanks Quote
deckheight Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 What's already been said... Cylinder porting, efficent exhaust like CPI or T-5, 33mm Kehins, at least 100 octane top end and decent clutch. No need for a locker, etc. Swing arm depends on the rider... personally I prefer wheelying around everywhere I go... Plus the stock front shocks suck anyway LOL! Quote
