My Banshee (optional)

  1. So I have a 06 banshee and I am a first time owner and new to the Atv world. I have a really clean almost stock banshee. It has t5 pies and v force reeds. I also removed the air box and have 2 k&n style filters an and tors delete. I don’t know what is the issue with it. I’ve been told that it should want to come off the ground as soon as I take off in first gear. I have never ridden a banshee before but that is not the case. The last time I rode it it was acting like it had no power and kept getting stuck. I took off the Jetts and they are 330 and 27.5 and im at sea level on the Oregon coast. I would like some input if these jets are good or what I should do to make my bike run like it supposed to run. I have general knowledge of how they work but not sure what the issue might be any info would greatly be appreciated please and thank you .

  8. Hi, I recently bought an 01 banshee. I believe the motor is stock and it has t5s on it and air pods(k&n style). As far as I know, those are the only aftermarket mods. My questions are, 1) whats the fuel mix ratio recommended by Toomey for t5s and 2) when I get into the carbs, where should I start with jetting? Also, as this is a stock motor, do I need to do this plug chop thing? Sorry if this topic is a dead horse, just new to dialing in the carbs and idle and all that. I had a banshee before, a brand new 2003 and I left it stock, so I never did any of this stuff to it. Thanks for any info yall.
  9. im looking for some help, or even someone that works on banshees in the iowa area. My banshee all of a sudden started reving high. So i gave her a break. Started it up and it instantly starting reving high, and the rpms increase very quickly, only can keep her on for like 20 seconds. Its bad. I checked my airscrews, my i take boots. My carbs were synced a week ago, and seemed to be on point. Might be leaking coolant somewhere. Underneath my banshee on the clutch side, theres a bolt that seems to have coolant/oil on it. I dont know whats going on. Can somebody help me?
  10. Hello Everyone! So just as I dialed in the jetting on my stock carbs I found a deal on a pair of 28mm Keihin PWK's. My question is where do I start with jetting? 13. Hey guys, I have a problem with my banshee that runs great with no loose in power or bogging in flat dunes or pavement and pulls really good. However, when I ride on the dunes and trying to get uphill starting from the 1st gear to 2nd once I pull the 3rd or sometimes 2nd it looses all the power while im uphill and I need to downshift to 2nd and 1st for the banshee to hits its power. Sometimes it bogs when I downshift to the 1st and have to push the throttle really fast to have the power comes right to save me making the downhill hahaa. If I want it to pull its hardest power, I have to ride a little distance before the hill and try to make it hit the powerbond 1st, 2nd and then to 3rd gear and it goes fine uphill (all with WOT) but as soon as I take the throttle little bit off nooo all power will be lost and need to downshift. I tried my friend banshee that has T5 and it pulls and make its power in 1 sec and he can upshift when he is riding uphill unhill the 3rd gear but mine upshift in that situation will make it loose the power I need to downshift to 1st or 2nd to wake it up. Mods: Stock carbs and stock cylinder and piston (factory). 1 to 1 big K&N filter with factory airbox and lid. Pro-circuit pipes. V4 Reeds I have no idea about the size of jetting because the shop has put in all the mods. Elev: 2000-2300 ft Temp: 50-68 F Your help and advice will be highly appreciated.

Heres what I purchased to install on my 2005 Banshee. 370 Big Bore Ported Kit, Pro design cool heads with 21mil domes, v-force reed valves, new 28 mm dual pwk carb kit with k&n filters and outerwares, toomey t6 exhaust. No stock airbox I live in Nashville,TN and ride trails and woods mostly with a little street drag if I wanna play around a little. My question is what jets should I use with this set up? Any response would be greatly appreciated and also I'm new to this forum so thanks in advance!

  19. Quick and simple as possible can't find a post that has the answer I'm looking for! I can't get the bike to idle RIGHT what so ever and have tried everything I can possibly think of and am I out of ideas I'll try to be as detailed as possible. Mods Fresh, stock cylinder 4mill dune port HJR t5 pipes Cool head domes cut for 91oct sea level +4 timing stock carbs, none of tors crap, crossover tube , k&n pods with outter wears, vforce 4, current jetting 30pilots Needle One above middle clip 330 mains So mid and top are great plug chops show it too, but I've never been able to get the idle right, when it's cold it start 1-2 kick right up no choke and then it warms up and acts rich, Boggs and has to clear up before it revs up. It will idle for a minute or 2 then die every time! I've tried going down to 27.5 and 25 and somehow does the same shit, when I open and close air screws I don't notice a difference, slides are in the right way choke tube is there, sync carbs, I've leak tested and no leaks, reeds are new less than 3 months on them, I tried turning the idle screws in all the way and helped a little bit but still not right , and carb body is shaved as low as could for the same reason that It wouldn't stay idling, I've even checked the pick up gap on the fly wheels and it's good. The last things I've done is full tear apart the carbs to clean and nothing float is set 21mm any help is much appreciated!
  20. (New top end stick boreand crank fmf fattys with powercore 2s pro flow I take boyesen dual stage reeds boost bottle stockcarbs with tors delete elevation is 217' above sea level). Hopefully someone can help I just wanna be sure I have the right jetting in my quad it seems as if it cuts out when I'm really on the gas like it's running lean? I don't know but I'd like to know what jets I should run and myneedle height and my mixture screw. I do not know what size are in my carbs right now but maybe someone can help quad runs great just that little problem. And it also feels like it runs way hotter than it did before I rebuilt I thank you! 01 banshee stock stroke and bore all engine mods posted above.
  21. I have a 98 shee that when running it runs too rich and and full throttle it pops. I have tried re jetting but nothing has worked. Please help
  22. I got these 28mm PWK's brand new from carbpartswarehouse, and they said they would build them to my mods (for a starting point), and they put NAPF needles in them? Iv'e been searching and studying forever on every thread and no one seems to run them. I was wondering if I should keep them in or replace with a more common one.
  23. Has anyone on here bought PWK's from carbpartswarehouse? They say that they jet the carbs according to your mods, for a good starting point. If anyone has bought from them, how accurate or how good of a starting point is it?
  24. I have an 01 shee. I got it in May of '16. It has Toomey T5 pipes a KN air, and some upgraded suspension. I was replacing my front control arms last week. I took it out to test it all out once it was together, it would not start. Then after some digging I found the two wires from the key had unplugged. I then just connected the wires together. I had done this once before when I lost my key. I got it to run once together. It would bog out at half throttle. it has gotten cold here in northern Illinois. I decided to rejet it from the 280 to 300 and bought the 290 because from what I read on here you should go up two sizes and be able to come back. I could not get it to do anything with either 290 or 300. I put the 280s back in and still nothing, tried a pull start nothing. I have spark, I have 100lbs on the right and 105 on the left. I know this is lower than stock, but it is the same as when I got it in May. Help please
  25. So, I sold my stock carb set-up in favor of the 33mm PWK's for my future Serval build. What jets and needles do you recommend with the following mods: 33mm Keihin PWK's w/K&N's and Outerwears UPP Intakes w/cross-over tube VF4's Mull Pump Gas Head +4* timing 91 octane w/YamaLube 2R mixed 40:1 stock pistons stock port CPI pipes Sea level in Pismo 75-80* F What pilot? What needle? What main? Stock 33mm PWK's come with the following: 52 pilots CGL needle 165 main jet I talked to a shop and they mentioned the following to start: 48-50 pilots CGL or CEL needles 155 mains Thoughts?
