  1. I noticed a lot of carbon buildup also with the castor 927. I am running it at 32:1. I talked with some guys and they told me to run it at 40:1 and it will burn cleaner. I will probley have to drop down my needle and main jet since the mixture will be thinner and follow more.
  2. Just orderd the hinson clutch basket.
  3. Well my stock basket has a 1/4 in of back and forth movement on the gear. Can't decide what brand basket to get Hinson,PE,Vortex,Dalton,Vito's. I noticed the hinson is most expensive @ $189.00 thru rockymountainatv. Are these all about the same quality.
  4. Pulled off the clutch basket today. The big gear that is connected to the clutch basket rotates back and forth a little bit. Is that normal or should it be tight and not have any slack at all. I noticed that the basket is connected with 4 rived type studs to the big primary driven gear and can not be tightened. My clymer manual does not show anything on being able to take the basket off the gear. Also there is a brass bushing inside the clutch housing that slides over a spacer on the shaft and there is a little play there. I would like to replace the bushing, but yamaha does not sell a replacement, you have to buy the whole clutch housing for $163.00 What do I do? Is this normal? Should I just put it back together and run her.
  5. Hey guys I think i may have found whats been making that knocking, rattling noise. I pulled off my engine side cover and notice the clutch basket was loose. I then pulled the pressure plate and clutch fibers and plates off. The clutch basket has a lot of slack, it feels like the basket is loose on the gear or loose on the shaft like a bushing is out. The clutch boss is tight, with no slack whatsoever. I am going to pull the nut off tomorrow and remove the clutch boss and basket. Has anyone ever had a basket get loose or wear out? Is there a bushing inside the basket that turns on the shaft? Is this an easy fix?
  6. It makes the sound when the clutch is pulled in also(like a knocking noise). I will check the water pump also. I installed the pro design impellor about year and a half ago.I also installed a tusk clutch kit 6 months ago (fibers and plates). I am hoping it will be nothing major and that I find the problem before it really tears something up.
  7. I put my ear next to the clutch cover and it sounds like it might be coming from the clutch. I am going to pull off the cover and see if anything is loose or coming apart.
  8. I only notice it when it is idling.
  9. No it is coming from inside the motor.
  10. No not like a bell. More like a buzzing noise or humming noise. What happens when the crank starts to seperate from not being welded and trued? Will it make a noise?
  11. Just rebuilt the topend on my bike. Bored it .020 over and put in weisco pro lite pistons. Now I notice a rattling noise in the bottom end .It sounds like it is coming from the crank area. It runs fine but never noticed it before. The crank is stock. I had the flywheel lightened a few months back.
  12. I did a topend rebuild and had alot of carbon in the exhaust port. I am also getting alot of buildup in my exhaust pipes from running castor 927 @ 32:1 Should I run 40:1? Will that cut down on the carbon buildup? Also anyone running the Golden Spectro syn/blend? I read on the bottle where it can be mixed 52:1 and it says it burns clean and won't carbon up. Would that be a good choice?
  13. A friend of mine told me to use VHT engine enamel. You spray it on and then you put your cylinders in the oven for one hour at 200 degrees and that is suppose to cure the paint. I bought it from O'Riely auto parts. I am going to try it as soon as I get my cylinders back from getting them bored 20 over.
  14. Hey guys I am wanting to paint my jugs yellow on the shee. What paint do ya'll recommend using? I want something that will look good and hold up to the heat for a long time. Please post pics of painted jugs if you have them. Thanks
  15. Just installed my lightened flywheel that Boonman did for me. Wow what a difference. Shee revs so much quicker. Feels like a different shee. If you have not done this mod I highly recommend you send it to Boonman, it's well worth it.
  16. Anybody out there using the 2 stroke racing oil from Royal Purple? If so does it perform good and where and how much are you paying for a quart?
  17. I think the digital tachs have a slight delay when reving the motor.
  18. Thanks guys. Now I can go back together with it and rip some ass. P.S. I think I'll get a 6 pak of budlight, drink them and then play ring the longneck with the rings.
  19. I am installing a tusk clutch kit and the tusk fiber plates have a slightly smaller inside diameter than the stockers. They don't want to slide over the rubber cushion rings. If I take a flat head screwdriver I can work the rubber ring between the fiber plate and clutch boss but it is really tight. Do I need to use cushion rings with this clutch? Please help.............
  20. I noticed power improvement on mine when I modded the plate.
