  1. In theory, any increase in horsepower can reduce the longevity of the internals. In my opinion, if you run the proper fuel, are jetted correctly, and do routine maintenance, 19cc domes would be reasonable. I've been running 19cc domes for a couple of years with stock internals.
  2. With 104 to 110 octane, you could go with 19cc domes. The HP numbers vary but 3 to 5 would be conservative estimate. As well as the HP increase, the characteristics of the power are improved quite a bit. A lot broader powerband can be expected that comes on a lot earlier. -David
  3. It might be okay to run 87 octane with 21cc domes depending on your elevation but I would recommend running premium pump and getting the 21cc domes. The extra cost per gallon is worth the perfomance difference between 21cc and 22cc domes.

    What kind of RC truck?
  5. Assuming you are near sea level in MI, if you want to run premium pump gas you will want 21cc domes for sure since your timing is advanced. Porting could change the dome recommendation so it would be good to ask the builder who does it for their recommendation. -David
  6. You are 'on the edge' with that compression and 94 octane, and too much if the timing is advanced. I'd probably bump up the octane a little.
  7. I would think both of you should have them by Monday or Tuesday if they haven't already showed up. Thanks -David
  8. With the mods you listed, and assuming you are close to sea level in NY, 21cc domes would be good and safe for premium pump gas. The higher compression will go well with the Gnarley pipes to increase your low end (and overall) power. -David
  9. Do you have an Outerwear on it? If not, you can get water repellent Outerwears.
  10. I would think a blown head gasket or a plugged steam vent in the top of the head. Start it with the radiator cap removed and see if it bubbles.
  11. With the BHQ discount, $234.00 plus shipping for the silver head and a set of domes. That's with whatever size domes you want.
  12. There are several brands of aftermarket heads. Members here get a discount on one of them.
  13. Pretty much what sredish said. 21cc would be good at close to sea level with premium pump gas.
  14. Close to sea level with stock timing 21cc domes would be good.
  15. Way to go Jack! Congrats!!
  16. Like Stan said, it is a very hard and durable surface. The finish will look only as good as the pre-plated surface. When I have stuff anodized, it only adds .0003 to .0008 inch. I would mask, or have them mask bearing surfaces and threaded holes. Any material besides aluminum (or titanium) will be ruined. All the racks, clamps, etc. that they use are titanium. Different alloys anodize differently. I'm not sure how the cast will turn out.
  17. Billet Head, domes, reed spacers, pro-flow and K&N, steering stabilizer, etc.
  18. What kind of Banshee stuff are you looking for?
  19. Isn't Stan making those? PM Cotton Eyed Joe and see. Everyone knows he does great work and treats people right.
  20. I have a CRF250X for sale on Ebay, http://cgi3.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?...B%3AEF%3AUS%3A1
  21. See if there are any plating anodizing shops in your area. It's easier with newly manufactured heads because I don't engrave them until after the anodizing is done.
  22. I don't like wasps, hornets, or these.
  23. If you don't find a used one. Let me know. I have plenty of new ones. -David
  24. If your radiator isn't clogged up and your jetting is correct AND it still runs hot with the new impeller, try an aftermarket head. (although that may not fall into the 'cheap' category.
  25. You can call me or order online paying the discounted price + $7 shipping (UPS Ground) at www.nossmachine.com/payments.htm Instructions come with it. To check compression: Warm up engine Remove both plugs Check each cylinder with throttle wide open Kick until guage stops going up Thanks, David
