  1. Welding is a good idea above 180. At 1000', maybe 145 to 155 with 20cc domes.
  2. I don't know the elevation where you are checking it but I would say around 150 to 160.
  3. I agree with the other guys. With 180psi, particularly with the Dyna, I'd be running at least 100 octane, probably 108+ since I hate replacing stuff because I have to....I don't mind replacing stuff when I WANT to.
  4. I do offer a 10% BHQ discount. Kinda what I was thinking. Someday I hope to not have to worry about stuff like that.........But not there yet. You'll love it. At higher elevations like SLC, the increased compression ratio makes a huge difference. By the way; Thank Lee for the contest. We worked a deal but he is footing the bill for the prize.
  5. If you were thinking about buying a Noss Head but were going to wait and see if you win the contest...Don't Wait!! If you buy one between now and the end of the contest then WIN the contest, I will refund your purchase price. You have nothing to lose by buying now... -David
  6. It irritates me when merchants don't ask for ID. That would help. As a merchant myself, I don't ship to adresses other than the billing address on the card unless I know the buyer. I believe it is the merchant's responsibility, and ultimate loss, if the cardholder protests. I know it is in my case. I've had the credit card company pull funds back out of my account a couple of times when the cardholder said it wasn't them that made the purchase. I understand the frustration Stan. I'm not a violent person (well, not really) but I wouldn't feel bad about inflicting some excrutiating pain on theives.
  7. 20cc domes should be fine with a stock crank and the octane you are running. If you have a set of calipers, PM me and I'll tell you how to determine if the stock head has been shaved. -David
  8. I've thought about selling, but if I can afford it, I'd like to keep the Banshee and get a 450 also. No other quad feels as good as the Banshee when it hits the power. Good Luck Scott
  9. Email sent. Thanks
  10. I'm not sure. What do you think? 2' X 4', 3' X 5' ??? Thanks
  11. Jack, that reminds me that I forgot about an email. I'm sorry. Yes, I got the material finally but haven't made any of the tie rods yet. Do you still want a pair? I hope to go to a few of the TQRA races this year, just camp out for the weekend. Any bites on the Banshee?
  12. We've signed on with TQRA to be one of their sponsors since the races are 'local'. They seem like a good group and exclusively 'quad'. Most of the races around here are 'bike and quad' with emphasis on the bikes. Does anyone on here make banners that we could hang up at the races?
  13. Cooperland is close to Stillwater. I think they are having some TQRA races there this season. I don't think they run quads and bikes on the same weekend and or track. I'm about 50 miles East of Stillwater.
  14. You were running race gas weren't you? 19cc domes, advanced timing, sea level.....
  15. The head is pretty easy to install: Drain the coolant, Remove the fuel tank, Remove the stock head, Clean the cylinder tops, Install the new head and domes Torque in at least 3 steps Add coolant....after reinstalling hoses and plugs. Reinstall tank. Re-jetting isn't usually necessary but I check it with any mod or season change.
  16. Whichever head you choose you will have to get domes. The domes are a cast-in part of the stock head. The ability to change them is one of the benefits of the aftermarket heads. You can run 21cc or 22cc domes at your elevation running premium pump gas. I would lean towards the 21cc domes.
  17. No, if you were running smaller domes with higher compression it would be wise to have the crank welded.
  18. If you send me your zip code, I'll figure shipping. The price will be 10% off + shipping making a silver head and domes $234 + shipping and an anodized head and domes $247.50 + shipping. You can also call to order and get the discount that way. 18cc domes would probably be okay on your crank if you don't ride below 3500'. -David
  19. With that compression and the timing advanced +4, that mix would be minumum IMO.
  20. It depends on your riding elevation, if you are ported, and if your timing is advanced. In the other thread that I think you are referring to, he is at around 4000' elevation. If your compression is over 160, maybe less depending on your other mods, you should run fuel with octane greater than 93
  21. When I look it up on Google, SLC shows about 4300' elevation. If you are going to ride at or above that elevation, 19cc would be fine and safe with your crank. Even down to about 2500' you would be fine with the 50/50. You would probably be okay with 18cc domes but I hesitat to recommend them with a stock crank in case you go on a trip to lower elevations.
  22. I'm not saying this because I make heads but: When I installed Vforce reeds I thought I felt a difference. When I installed a head and bumped the compression I did feel a difference and I stopped spewing coolant every time I rode.
  23. That is good fuel for that compression. I wouldn't be afraid to put 20cc dome in.
  24. Sometimes the coolant level will drop at first as bubbles are purged out of the system. Try tightening the two bolts that hold the fitting on using a 3/16" hex key wrench. If that doesn't fix it, which it should, give me a call. -David
  25. Some of the stroker 'kits' have incorrect squish clearance (some are fine). If you check that and the compression with your stock head you can get a better idea of how much performance can be increased with a head and some stroker domes.
