You never did tell me where I could find dozens of people who are running my exact set up??? and you don't chuckle and move on any thread I post or anything I comment on, you you have some kind of Jack ass comment to throw out there. All I can tell you is bring a Banshee that you've put a Properly set up SoFoul Suspension on and run it against me in the woods, until then please shut the fuck up and pedal your over priced suspension set ups, and get off my back.

Does anybody know of a Performance Parts Manufacture that makes a Aftermarket Clutch Inner Hub for the Banshee thats cheaper thatn Hinson or Wiseco? There so high.

MattSCSS You're beating a dead horse with this guy. There have been dozens of people with his exact setup that go to even a BASIC aftermarket Banshee setup and notice a WORLD of difference. You just gotta do what everyone else does, chuckle and move on. Who else is running 2009 and new YFZ-450X or R Suspension Components on there Banshee that are members of BansheeHQ? I've been trying to find other people that have done the conversion to see how other similar set ups turned out. I'm not saying they don't exist but I can't find any pictures or BHQ Forums on the 450X Suspension Conversion. I'm well aware that there are loads of guys running the older YFZ-450 Suspension Components but I can't find any other HQ members that are running the 450X Shocks. The X Shocks have a a lot bigger Pistons and there is a huge difference in the Valving VS the Standard YFZ-450 Shock. The shock body has been tapered, they are over a inch longer, they have over a inch more travel, they have 3" Coil Springs vs 2.5" Coil Springs, the Reservoirs are 80% bigger than the standard YFZ Shocks, they have a larger body for increased oil capacity for improved cooling, and they have a Kashima Coating to reduce friction. I decided that I could make the X Shocks work better with a different A-Arm set up so I had Metal Tech Custom Build me a set specifically for the X Shocks, Spindles, Hubs, and other Suspension Components when they built my +3 Oval Tube Swing Arm. If you like upgraded aftermarket shock set up with outdated technology and design thats fine but don't bash every other set up because you like something different. You need to remember that I'm riding in a completely different terrain than your used to. Kentucky's tight trails are littered with lime stone rock, sycamore roots, and cedar trees. ZillaFreak Are you lacking common sense? I was using the Trophy Truck analogy as a comparison between the the Standard 2007 YFZ-450SE Shock and the Newer 2009-2011 YFZ-450X Shocks in regards to the way the X Shocks reacted and absorbed impact. camatv Bend Rings are the inner and outer reinforcing rings that are rolled into the wheel to prevent them from bending and added durability. Here is a ITP Item listing I found on the internet that explains the function of bend rings on ITP's ATV Wheels. The ITP T-9 Pro Baja Rims are constructed with an inner and outer reinforcing bend ring that is rolled in, not welded for maximum performance and added levels of strength for maximum durability to handle ATV racing. amstall If you think the Banshee's Stock Suspension Set up is good for anything other than Sand Drags and Dunning you haven't ever rode one off the pavement.

Mattoon Clutch Basket Junk after 20hrs of ride time?
Thack82 replied to Thack82's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I guess I'm going to send my Basket back to Mattoon Monday. I'll let you guys know what he says. By the way Brandon your Billet Shift Star is awesome quality! I really haven't got a chance to feel the difference it will make yet because I found the Clutch Basket Problem when we went to install it. While I was in there I did notice my Billet Water Pump Gear I bought from you back last year still looked like brand new. -
Mattoon Clutch Basket Junk after 20hrs of ride time?
Thack82 replied to Thack82's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Damn, I was hoping Hinson made a Hard Anodized Steel Basket, if they did and I couldn't get this issue resolved with Mattoon I was going to give the Steel Basket a shot. They are proud of them, most of them I've seen were in the $299 range. I just called them and talked to him about the wear on the basket and and ask him if he had seen my emails. He said he hadn't and he acted like he doubted what I was telling him. He said he had never had a problem with any of there baskets but it was up to me, if I wanted to send him my basket back he would take a look at it and if he felt like there was a problem on their end he would ship me a knew one. The bad part about that deal is the shipping cost on my end and my Banshee being out of commission for at least a week. He said if I sent it USPS Priority Mail he would have it in 3 days, then he would look at it and if he thought there was a problem on there end he would ship me a new basket priority. so I'm looking at a minimum of 7 days with no clutch basket so I can't work it out so I'm not quadless for a weekend. Personally I don't see how it could be a problem I caused, and I think they should let me ship my basket out priority and email them a tracking number and Mattoon ship me out a new basket the same day, or better yet just look at the pictures and send me a new clutch basket. I don't know.......... He also said hard anodizing clutch baskets was pointless and it really wasn't necessary? If anybody else is having ware issues with Mattoon's Baskets you better contact him now because I'd say if you have any arguable time on it he will be reluctant when it comes to replacing it. -
Mattoon Clutch Basket Junk after 20hrs of ride time?
Thack82 replied to Thack82's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Did my pictures upload that time? Its grooved so bad that its breaking Clutch Plates. My buddy that owns his own Performance ATV Shop expressed a few concerns when I bought it and we installed it. He didn't like the fact that it Mattoon didn't Hard Anodize the Clutch Basket and the Fingers didn't have oiling windows to increase clutch plate lubrication and disperse heat. I'll call them and let you guys know what ends up happening. Do you guys know if Hinson makes this Hard Anodized Steel Basket for the Banshee: This Basket looks indestructible. -

Have you guy's ever heard anything bad about Mattoon's Products or had any problems with there customer service? I've Got about 20hrs on this Mattoon 8 Plate Extreme Heavy Duty Billet Clutch Basket that I ordered brand new from Mattoon back last December. The last time I rode it was a absolute bitch when it came time to shift. I ask a buddy of mine that owns a local ATV Shop that rides with us what he thought the problem was and he said we would need to jerk the clutch cover off when we got back to the shop. We didn't have time that day so come Monday I ordered a Mull Racing Billet Shift Star and a Forged Kicker Gear and a Clutch Basket Needle Bearing set up that replaced the the Bronze OE Clutch Basket Bushing to help me get through the gears a little easier. When we popped the Clutch Cover off and started dissembling the Clutch Assembly we found out that the new Mattoon Billet Clutch Basket I had installed was pretty much junk and it had caused me to break a Friction Plate. I didn't figure that I'd have any problems getting this situation resolved Keith or any of the other guys at Mattoon so I sent them a email with these Pictures, a Pay Pal Receipt, and the Hour Meter Reading and ask them to aether refund my money or send me another Billet Clutch Basket. I also ask them if they could get the new Billet Clutch Basket with a Hard Anodized Finish on it to prevent this from happening again and if they couldn't hard anodize the basket for me if they new somebody I could send it to that would. That was last week and I've sent them two more emails and I still haven't got a response. Do you guys know of anyone else that's had any problems out of Mattoon's products or there Costumer Service? From what I've heard Mattoon is a great company, I'm wanting and plan on buying a set of there Stock 102mm Spread Billet Cases to set my Serval Cylinder Set Up on sometime next winter. My buddy Matt Withrow that owns Withrow Powersport's told me he thought I'd have wear issues with it when we put it in last winter because it didn't have a Hard Anodized Finish on it, but I thought it would be fine because the Stock Basket was Aluminum and it didn't have a Hard Anodized Finish on it and it had lasted from 2004 to 2011 so I figured I'd buy another Billet Basket if I had to seven or eight years later. The Bad part about it is my OE Basket wasn't this bad when I took it out. Like I said I have a Serval Set Up with the following Transmission Upgrades, Driveline Extreme 8 Plate Heavy Duty Trail/Track Clutch Kit Driveline Stealth Lock Up Mattoon Extreme 8 Plate Heavy Duty Clutch Basket Hinson 8 Plate Inner Clutch Hub Mull Racing Billet Shift Star Forged Kicker Gear Clutch Basket Needle Bearing That Replaces the Bronze OE Clutch Basket Bushing Stream-Line Hydraulic Clutch Lever As yo can see I've invested quite-a-bit of money in my Transmission and Clutch Set Up in a attempt to eliminate any Clutch or Transmission Issues. What do you guys suggest I do from here? I guess I'll see if Hinson makes a8 Plate Hard Anodized Steel Clutch Basket for the Banshee and replace my Mattoon 8 Plate Extreme Heavy Duty Billet Clutch Basket if Mattoon's not going to try to make this right. I know the Steel will be Heavier and probably rob a couple of Horsepower but I built my Banshee for Trail Riding and XC Racing and RELIABILITY over everything else! Just about every time I've had another quad run with my Banshee or beat it it's been because I couldn't get through all the gears.

I know a lot of you guys have been playing with the YFZ-450 Suspension Suspension Swap and I've played with all the Yamaha 450 Suspension combinations and this is what I did and I'm very happy with the results. The "X" Shocks were a huge improvement over the 2007 YFZ-450SE Shocks, they made my Banshee ride like a trophy truck. I finally got the complete 2010 YFZ-450 Swap to work on the Banshee with NO Frame modifications. I'm running the following Suspension Parts. Front: *FullFlight +3+1 12 Point Adjustable A-Arms (For YFZ-450 Shocks) *2010 YFZ-450R Spindles, Hubs, Steering Stem Flag, Brakes, and Brake Lines *2010 YFZ-450X Front Shocks I'm still messing with the rear right now I'm running a +1+1 Forward Powersport's Forged Rear Axle, and a 2010 Raptor 700SE Rear Brake Caliper along with Deep Dish ITP-T9's with Bend Rings to make up the differences in the front and rear width. I'm working on a rear Shock upgrade now with. after I get that squared away and buy a new aftermarket Swing-Arm (Hopefully a Ace Fabrication) I plan on putting Race Tech's Gold Valve's and Internals in all three shocks and going with their Triple Rate Springs on the front and their Dual Rate Springs on the Rear. If you have any questions about the different 450 suspension Parts give Kevin a Call at 1-(480)-262-3216. He is very knowledgeable and he has a ton of Suspension Components for sale at a great price.

What carburetor Needle will perform best in a set of Keihin PWK 28mm Carburetors? I have a Serval Cyl Set Up that has a F.AS.T. Trail Port and Polish. I'm running 28mm Billet Intakes, Free Flowing Air Box, Paul Turner Mids/Fat Boy II's, Chariot Reed Cages/Boyesen Power Reeds. Let me know if you need any other build information and I'll let you know. From the other post I've looked at on BHQ on this Topic it looks like I need to use the JJH Needles do you guy's agree? Summer Jetting - 50 Pilots and 158 Mains Winter Jetting - 52 Pilot's and 160 Mains *Elevation - 740-780 Feet Above Sea Level Please get back with me on this as soon as possible. Thanks, Jim

By the way I bought my Stock Stroke Serval Set Up from Jeff at F.AS.T., I would highly recommend you call and talk to him about where you want your power. He did a great job helping me put together a motor that has tire shredding low end torque for tight woods and trails and I think he did a excellent job with my Trail Port and Polish work. IMO excessive spinning is the nature of the beast with the Serval, mine blows the tires off on bottom end. I put a Dyna-Tek CDI Box with 4 Custom Written Curves (Stock, #-2 Woods Curve, #-2 Trinity's 421Cheetah 300ft Sand Drag/Dune Curve, #-3 Trinity's 421 Cheetah 1/8 Mile Asphalt Curve) and it helped my Banshee out Tremendously! It made my Power a lot more usable.
-
I run a F.A.S.T. Trail Ported Stock Stroke 392cc Serval and it runs great in the woods and it makes good power. I have mine set up a little different than most guys do. I run the Trinity 68mm Cheetah Super Pro-Lite Piston's with the Stage IV Cool Head/21cc Domes, Paul Turner Mids/Fat Boy II's, Twin PWK 28mm Carbs, Pro-Design Intakes, Chariot Billet Reed Cages/Boyesen Power Reeds, 15/42 Gearing and a bunch of other mods and my Banshee's pretty mean in the woods. That being said I do want to eventually set my 68mm Serval on a set of 102mm Spread Mattoon Billet Cases and go +10 Stroke. I hope I can do that this winter. The best part about the Seval for a woods rider is the engine temps. I ran a Billet Water Pump, Billet Water Pump Gear, Over-Sized Aluminum Radiator, CV-4 High Pressure Radiator Cap, ASV Silicon Hoses, Billet In-Line Coolers, ATV Engine Ice/With Royal Purple "Purple Ice", and every other cooling mod you can possibly think of on my Banshee and it still over heated when I'd run it hard in the woods. Knock on Wood I haven't blown one drop of coolant out of it since I put the Serval Mono Block on it.

I'm hoping you guys can help me out and I want all the input I can get on this. I currently have a Stock Stroke Serval Cub with just about every bolt on performance Part made for a Banshee. I'm running a Hot Rod's Trued and Forged Stock Stroke Crank Shaft with Trinity's Exclusive Pro-Lite 68mm Cub Pistons. I made mistake when I bought a stock stroke crank back a few years ago when I put a new bottom end in it and I don't want to make the same mistake so I want to go as big as possible . I plan on doing this around November of this year. What would I need to buy in order to go 10mm/64mm Stoke? I'm assuming I would need to buy a new Bottom end Pivot Work's Bearing Kit, a New Trinity Exclusive Pro-Lite Piston Top End Kit (Pistons with the proper Wrist Pin Placement for the 64mm Stroke), New Gaskets (Top and Bottom End), and pretty much everything else you buy when you rebuild the complete engine. I need to know the answers to these question's: Will I need Aftermarket Mattoon Billet Cases in order to run the +10mm/64mm Stroker Crank? Will I need to get my buddies at Qualex Machine to cut me a Cylinder Base Spacer out of Billet Aluminum that matches the Serval Cylinder Lay Out? Is there any Disadvantages to running a Stroker Crank VS a Stock Stroke Crank? Any input on this would be greatly appreciated. Thack82

Brand New Custom Made 15 Paddle Haulers and DWT Wheels! Yamaha 4/115
Thack82 replied to Thack82's topic in Swap and Trade
Man please don't think I'm trying to be misleading, this has been my first experience with Paddle Tires and I don't know a hole lot about them to tell you the truth. I emailed Scat-Track and talked to a guy named Ramon if I'm remembering correctly. I emailed him my Build Sheet and told them I wanted the toughest Sand Paddles they made because I lived in Kentucky and I planned on running them on my Banshee at the Local County Fairs and most of the Fair Drags around here are pretty much Clay, Dirt, Small Rocks and maybe if its Super Nice Drag it might have a 50/50 Mix of Sand ant Top Soil. I also told them I might want to run them in the rare event that we got 6-8 inches of Snow I didn't want to chip the paddles or throw them off. This is the Paddle set up he recommended and I bought them. I gave $790+ for the rear combo shipped and I think they buffed them 3 times before they shipped them to me. I'm not sure what buffing tires does I'm assuming it has something to do with the cosmetic appearance of the tire and it adds strength. I'm figuring that or buffing might be some form of heat cycle they put them through to insure durability? I'm not sure like I said I run XC Races and Trail Ride and I don't really know what I have other than what I've told you. I should have bought a set of used 8-10 Paddles on a set of OE Take off Wheels or a set of Pro-Wedge Snow Tires and saved myself a lot of money. I'm wanting a few other Mods now (listed in previous post) that I think I could get a lot more use out of and help my Banshee perform better in it's natural habitat that I built it for. Please add any information that you guys know to this thread and feel free to correct me on anything I might be saying thats wrong. Pretty much this is what I know: Condition - Brand New, Never Used, Never Mounted on any Quad. Price - $791.56 For the Rear Wheel and Tire Combo Shipped From Scat-Trak to Lawrenceburg Kentucky 40342 Size - 22X11-10 Number of Paddles - 15 Hauler Paddles Per Tire Horsepower Rating - 100 Horsepower and Up Wheels - 10X10 Douglas DWT AlumiLite Sport Blue Label Wheels with 4/115 Yamaha Sport Quad Lug/Bolt Pattern * Buffed 3 Time I think? Thanks Guy's let me know if I can answer anything else. -

The Old Polaris Scrambler's had a Similar set up on them, but their Canister was quit a bit bigger. Its big enough that you could put you Wallet, Cell Phone, Car Keys, and other important stuff in it to protect it from getting wet. I replaced the O-Ring on the one I bought just to insure it didn't leak. The angle that it ended up setting at works out better on the Banshee than it does on the 400EX because the content are not putting pressure on the cap while your riding.

I've added a few things to my Banshee lately that help me out in the woods that I wanted to show you guys. I worked from the OEM Plastic Heel Guard Design and had the guys at Qualex make me up a set of Aluminum Heel Guards. I searched the Internet for a couple of days trying to find a set of Nerf Bars and Heel Guards that looked good like the one I pasted on here that are in the small picture, but they didn't make anything for the Banshee that would help add stability to the plastic, keep your feet dry, and looked good. So I had this set made. They deflect water and mud thats being thrown off the tires onto your feet and the motor but still allow air to pass threw them when your moving at high speeds, they add Stability to your plastic and they look good. I went ahead and sold my old DG Fat Boy Drag Nerf Bars because they didn't help guide the rear of the quad away from the trees if you were on a hill and I bought a set of East Coast Nerf Bars ($72.00 Shipped) and they work a lot better. After I bought my Dyna-Tek Programmable CDI and mounted the Four Curve Switch under my seat where it would be protected I didn't have a spot to put my trail tool kit (Tire Plug Kit, Extra Set Of Spark Plugs, Multi-Wrench "8mm, 10mm, 12, 14mm" Allen Wrenches, Screw Drivers, Mini Chanel Locks and Mini Adjustable Wrench) So I bought a 400EX Frame Mounted Tool Holder and mounted it with a old Dura-Blue Lowering Mount we had laying around in the shop and attached it to the frame with a 12mm Bolt/Lock Nut.. It's worked out good even better than a tool kit under the seat IMO. I ran across a Air Defecting Radiator Scoop for a 1989 LT-250R on partshark.com when I was looking up a few parts for him when he started to do his LT-250R Woods Build. I figured a Banshee always needs all the cooling help it can get so I bought it ($16.00 Shipped) and mounted it under the plastic Nose Peace on mu Banshee. It works perfect it catches the air that passes threw the front scoops and channels it right through the Radiator. I'm still working on a Electric Fan set up that mounts behind the Radiator that doesn't restrict the natural designed air flow, I hope I have that up and going before summer. I'll let you guy's know when and if I get that figured out.

I bought a T.M. Designworks Case Saver yesterday as well as their Chain Glide Roller Slider, Upper Swing Arm Chain Slider Glide, and their Chain Roller Kit. I agree T.M.'s Stuff does look like it would protect everything the best. I run a Sunstar's Top Of The Line 520XTG Xtreme Triple Guard Sealed Three Ring Chain with Sunstar's Best Rear Sprocket the Steel-Z Sprocket, and I run Cheap East Coast ATV Front Sprockets (12 tooth-17 tooth) because I switch them out quit a bit and they ware to match the Chain and Rear Sprocket pretty quick and then they stay matched pretty good. So I hope these Item Help keep incidents like I had last weekend from happening again. Here's the T.M Product's I bought: and I'm wanting to go ahead and buy this Ace Fabrication Rear Swing Arm, What your thoughts on those?
-
Can you send me a few pictures? Will you take $1,200 for them.
I want to go ahead and replace my Cases. Other than added strength what other benefits do you gain from running billet cases?
Thanks,
Jim

Thats a nice Case Saver. Does everybody pretty much agree that T.M. Designworks is the best Case Saver made? I'm buying a new one today and trowing away that other white peace of shit that I've been using.
