  1. yes it did rev fine...i got the top end rebuilt a while back..then ended up tearing it back down and splitting the cases....the key is on there and the stator is good, its getting an excellent blue spark...timing mark is set at +4 i even tried going back to stock mark The carbs i synced them with the marks in the glass on the carbs..both slides come up at the same time and sit at the same level. I do not have a vacuum tool, but I did them through the eye sights.
  2. man idk, ive tried everything it seems like...mine you got to open the throttle wide open to get it to start...idk wtf it is but ive tried everything i know to do
  3. Alright guys, long story so bear with me....I had a 400ex that I bought cheap because it was blown up, I had it rebuilt, and I had a guy that owned this banshee call me wanting to trade his banshee for my 400ex. He said that his banshee had a bad stator, but he knew that it was the stator. So I went and looked at the banshee, and ended up taking his word on the bad stator. I brought it home, and tested the stator, it was in fact bad. I bought a new stator, put it on, and went for a ride. I didn't make it very far down the road, and it started smoking really bad on the left hand side....(head gasket). I bought a head gasket, put it on, and did a compression test on it...It needed new pistons. So i bought gaskets, pistons and rings, wrist pins, whole nine yards. I also bought k&n pods, adjustable stator plate, and I believe thats it. I bumped my main up 1 size, got it all back together, and started having another problem. It would not rev very high at all. Fell on its face..have to hold the throttle about half way in to keep it running, and it only revved about 1500 rpms when you held the gas half way. I noticed after playing around with the jetting a little, adding new plugs, new plug caps, and fresh gas, the left hand side started sucking transmission oil up...When I pulled the clutch cover off, my water pump was laying at the bottom of the cover. I bought the parts to fix the water pump, and bought new crank seals. I split the cases about a week or so ago, everything went very smoothly. I got it all back together, and the damn thing still wont rev up. I did a leak down on it, and it held pressure fine for 5 minutes, and then I let the pressure out...Choke tube is in place...carbs are clean, I just bought new boyeseen reeds for it as well. This banshee sat for quite a while..so I went and got FRESH avgas just wallago, mixed it 40:1 with amsoil, and it is STILL having the same problem! ugh! I have a cut and milled head, 400ft above sea level, fresh .020 weisco pro lite pistons, squish is .045 on the right side and left side is .049, I have 180 PSI in both cylinders, it has passed a leak down test. New stator, new plug caps, new plugs, new crank seals, and oil seals, fresh tranny fluid, fresh gas mixed 40:1 with amsoil, new k&n pods, new boyeseen power reeds, crank bearings are tight. I bought a trinity 2 into 1 carb, but the guy forgot to put the rubber boot in the box, so I am waiting for that to get here...hopefully it has to do with the carbs, and something I am overlooking in them.
  4. I'm 400 ft above sea level. You think I'm ok to run straight avgas?
  5. wanting to spend a little less, wanting to go with something used. I will keep you in mind though!
  6. 400ft above sea level. +4 timing, .020 over, cut and milled head that I am unsure of how much it was cut. But I have 180 psi in both cylinders. I am wanting to run straight avgas. 110 is very hard to get in my area. Can I run avgas with this setup or do I need to get a cool head with some 20cc domes? Josh said he thinks my compression is too high and he thinks I should run 110 in my setup. He thinks that might be why my banshee isn't running right.
  7. Looking to buy a cool head..I am 400ft above sea level... http://nossmachine.com/banshee_heads.htm According to this chart, 20cc domes would be what I need to run straight avgas with .020 over and +4 timing? I would like to have a 1 piece cool head. Let me know what you have and what you are looking to get out of it.
  8. Yes, I did do a leakdown test. That is how I know I don't have an air leak. Carbs ARE clean as a wistle, I am waiting on the intake boot for my 2 into 1..I bought it pretty cheap to try..I just put my new reeds on, there was pretty good gaps in my old ones...pilot jet was a 25, I just tried a 30, and same difference..tried various mains, and still no go..I hope the 2 into 1 fixes it.
  9. I got a stock one that you can modify yourself.
  10. ok so I am looking for a 2 into 1 still, i do want one, so if you got one hit me up!
  11. something i think everyone is missing is i have had to put gas in a squirt bottle and open my throttle wide open and spray gas so it hits the reeds to start it..ive had to do that twice..once last night after i got it put together, and once today when i tried starting it for the 2nd time. Could that be bad reeds? I am pretty positive its not an air leak...it did this before i put a new top end on it, and split the cases, and its doing it now..i used scotchbrite to clean of every little bit of the gaskets, i know it sealed fine..im thinking the carbs are messed up, or reeds are messed up...and i took it down the road with it sputtering and running like crap. i got 310s in it now and its no different that 290 was.
  12. It was running rich around idle trying to warm it up..i adjusted my air screws, put new plugs in her, and took it down the road running like shit..when i got back i pulled the plugs and both look almost brand new still...no power what so ever
  13. whoops, yes I do mean 290's..ive tried 290s, 270's, and 310s...and its running like shit still...im thinking it might be reeds..its got a new stator, carbs have been went through...fresh top end, new crank seals..and it still falls on its face...now that I have took it down the road, the plugs are bearley getting any fuel...idk what else it could be..ive tried everything...thats why I was making sure that I was right around where i should be on jetting
  14. Stock carbs with tors removed
  15. Machinist drill bits are very precise. I used them to drill jets for a Harley carb. I will order but k want to go riding and I got to wait 2 days to get jets.
  16. Don't be a little mouth bitch sea leve is the same as ground level I'm on my phone jerk off. The banshee has never runright since I got it I was making sure it wasn't another problem I just split the cases. Thanks for your smartass comment go fuck yourself.
  17. .020 over. K and n pods. Toomey exhaust. +4 timing. Cut and milled head with 180 psi in each cylinder. 400ft above ground level. Half avgas half 93. Just got my banshee running. 190 is in it and it's pretty rich. Loads up when I'm trying to warm it up revving it.
  18. Ok I finally got my banshee done. Except for jetting. Well the Yamaha shop only has one size I need and that's 270. I want to ride today so I was going to get some small ones and drill them out. Does anyone have a chart for the drill but numbers to use to make jets from about 250 to 280?
  19. Just buy the oem gasket from Yamaha or eBay it
  20. eBay. Most people on here that have them keep them. They are only like 30 bucks
  21. I'd like to know this too. I'm going to run half avgas and have 93 because that's the only thing I can get where I live. I got a cut and milled head with 180 psi in both cylinders 500ft above sea level. My timing is set at +4 now.
  22. If you do 100 shipped I'll take them
  23. Undecided really. If anyone has any then let me know. Send me a message or reply here. I would probably trade.
  24. Looking to spend 50.60 shipped
  25. Bump
