What did your plugs look like? Not sure where you're at, but did you rejet for colder weather? Try a new set of plugs, it'd be a good idea to do a compression test too.

Just to clarify, you checked the cylinder to make sure it's still in spec? I mean what you said was that you are doing a std kit? Either you got caught up with the wrong girl...ha joke, But i take it you mean standard bore, Usually when top end lets loose its time for an overbore. Did you get it checked out?

There's 3 tabs on the outside of the flywheel line one up with the pickup and I believe the clearence should be .020

Runs low 7's in 1/8th Look for her if you go to Norwalk or National Trails for their ford meets in late summer. She puts a hurtin on the guys, shes damn good on the tree .510s all day. I got a 83 hatchback with a 302 , if I could get my head out of my ass I'd have it out by now, but shit happens. Any pics of that Fairlane? Love them cars.

It'll run with TORS brain unplugged..Buy a clymers manual man 30 bucks well spent. Do a compression test first off, If ok give the carbs a good clean, and synchronize them.
