Found the problem...bolt came out of my stator and was rolling around inside and tore up my stator.
-
How do I test the stator????
-
Was just riding it and all of a sudden it was like it ran out of gas.....Had plenty of gas....checked the spark and did not see one took my ignition coil to the local motorcycle shop and theysaid it had a weak spark so I bought a new ignition coil...And still will not start. How do I check if it is the stator...magneto...all the electrical connections look fine as far as I can see. Any help would be great.

So here is the deal...I took my clutch apart to try and get it to shift better added..shift star, new clutch cable, inner hub and pressure plate. Put the damn thing back together and filled it with oil and antifreeze. Started to pick up all my tools and old hub and plate and stuck to the back of the old hub with oil is my damn thrush washer that did not get put back in....DAMN IT. So drained everything and took it all apart again put the washer back on and then my torque wrench did not work right and broke a damn clutch spring bolt off in the hub. Got it out and got new bolts. So here is my question when I took it apart the second time my kickstarter came off with the clutch cover and I want to make sure I got it on right...does the kickstart gear go behind or in front of the other gear??? Do not want to take it apart again...at least not this soon. Here are some pics.

Hey banshee21 he said BACK it off 1/4" turn.

I just installed a cascade pancake bearing the other day and before I pit it back together just want to make sure that this looks right. The end where you adjust it sticks out far enough that the flat spots are past the outer hub so if you put a wrench on it you can turn it....not sur if this was right and there is not suppose to be some washer on the outside.
-
The way got it my clutch feels good, the adjuster felt like it was in as far as it should go? Is it normal for the lever to touch the grip when pulled in? And hey Greg maybe tomorrow I'll try to do it before I tighten the springs. Is the outer hub supposed to be passed the flat spots on the adjuster? So if you took a wrench on the adjuster you could turn it "the flat spots are not in the hex opening on the outer hub like the stock one"?

I just installed the adjuster and a new cable, my cable is adjusted all the way in and when I adjust the pancake adjuster my arrows on my case are off by about 1/8" to 1/4" inch to the stator side by my question is when I pull my clutch in the arrow goes about the same amount maybe a little less to the clutch side, is this right? I did a search and the arrow 1/4" inch on the stator side was mentioned but they said with the clutch pulled in the arrows lined up and mine do not. I adjusted it in enough where my clutch basket did not have any play and my clutch lever did not have any slack. Just want to make sure it is right before I put it back together. Also installed a shift star and new inner and outer hubs. Thanks

I have used a dremel before and cut a slot in the top, then used a screwdriver to back it out. Also you can try and hammer in the next size up allen wrench.
-
Anybody use them? Kinda pricey but wanting to know how much of a difference the dampners make.

OH Thanks Man.

I recently rebuilt my bike..basically everything in my sig...Had it running pretty good and I switched to Bel Ray MC1 50:1 with 110 octane just to be safe. Well went riding today and I had a slight bog again in my bottom end. I know the bottle says leaner jetting may be required. Has anyone else had this when they switched? I am running 155 main....45 pilot... needle 4th clip down...2 turn out. It doesn't do it all the time, I did alittle draggin and in 1st and 2nd they got me because my bike would not go very well. Checked my plugs all day and they looked good. My elevation is around 800 where I ride.

Hey guys I going riding this weekend and it has been raining a little. I ride at St. Joe State Park here is Missouri and you can go down one weekend and there will be little water then go down the next and there can be alot of water. So I took small paint can liners that fit over the pods with room to spare, cut a hole in one end to slip the filter through it and cut the liners down the middle to act as a shield under the filter. Do you guys think this will work? I will be avoiding as much water as possible. But if anyone else has any better means of making any kind of makeshift shields I am all ears. Pics of your shield would be nice too. Wifes got my camera so I cant take pics of mine yet.

I just replaced my front brake lines with +2 Streamline Stainless Braided lines and for the life of me can't bleed the damn lines. I get more coming out on the clucth lever side and a few drops coming out on the brake lever side. I have been pumping the damn brake lever for like 30 min. I have tried pumping the lever with the reseivor cap on and off..... :: WTF!!!! Any pointers!!!!!

Yeah I just installed my new Wicked +2+1 arms also I added some Elka front shocks. I cant wait to see the difference myself.

Do these really help alot? I just put in a new clutch with all 6 heavy springs and the clutch is real hard to pull. So will this eliminate my problem? I was also going to try 3 stock with 3 heavy. Are they worth the money?

Does anybody know what size Wicked A Arm tubing is..3/4 or 1 inch. I am at work so I cant check mine. Ordering brake line holders.

I'm installing my new A Arms and when I put on the tie rods the bolt that holds them on when I try and tighten the nut I get about 2 turns then the entire spindle turns so i cant tighten it up to get a cotter pin in? Of the 2 tie rods 3 ends are doing it and 1 is fine. Any thoughts on how to fix this. I cant see any burrs on the threads and I have tried several different nuts. I was going to try a tap and die to clean the threads "need to buy one" but thought the spindle would still turn.

Bought a set of A Arms from Greg and he answered all my questions and his shipping was FAST...Would most certainly buy from him again!!!

I just intalled a new Boss clutch and use all 6 of the heavy duty springs " I kept the stock springs also" but when I took it out the first time the clutch is very hard to pull in and sometimes when I shift it doesn't want to shift on the first try sometimes. Also finding neutral is almost impossible with the bike running. So my question is will the clutch loosen up or should I put 3 of the stock springs back in. Getting ready to switch my tranny oil to Bel Ray 80W so now is the best time to do it.

Which do you guys prefer? Any advantages of trail tech? Who has them?
