  1. I am not familiar with 30mm carbs but i would guess somewhere from 150 to 160 mains and 50 pilots oughta be a good start point. I ran 28pwks with 150 mains and 50 pilots on a ported 350. I stroked it later and ended up at a 145. That should be close enought to get you going.
  2. Like rubberneck said hard to tell from pic. Brown is your friend. Don't be afraid of a big number jet. Some engines just ask for more jet. I used to have to run 410 mains in a ported 350 with pro circuit pipes. K@N in the box lid off. Every engine will be a little different.
  3. I would guess you have to big of a pilot. I would also experiment with less timing. In my experience too much timing would make the power really on off.
  4. Keep going bigger until your plugs are brown. maybe try one step more pilot
  5. I would start with 280 mains plug test and go from there.
  6. If your plugs are white you are way lean. get bigger main jets.
  7. If your traveling that far don't bother with sand lake. All of the others on the coast are killer. Florence is my personal favorite. I think it is the most diverse whether you like to dune, drag, trail, or whatever. Check out duneguide.com that will tell you all the camp spots for all the dunes pretty much everywhere.
  8. Sand only. but definately a lot of duning and some draggin. I don't think I am gonna make the jump to alcohol yet. I just don't want to sacrifice the good low end power I have now for a screamin top end beings I like to play ride more than anything. About the pro circuits they will just be sitting after this weekend. Should have pipes and carbs today or tomorrow. I will try to get a pic of them. stay in touch.
  9. stock cylinders for now.
  10. Thanks for the input. I think i will try the 35s with the shearers and see what happens.
  11. Thanks, yeah i was kinda thinking 35's would be the ticket. I am concerned about losing all the midrange the motor has now.
  12. running a ported 4mm with 28mm pwks and pro circuit pipes and wondering how shearers and bigger carbs are gonna run. my local engine builder suggests 39mm pwks. something tells me that will be to much carb. just looking to improve already good engine. any thoughts?
