that could very well be because the shee only has around 90 psi in both cylinders and the guy i bought it from was the second owner and has never done any internal things to it, and said the original owner told him the engine was stock. i dont have any reason to not belive him, hell its a 96 with stock plastic, tires, and chain and sprokets he took damn good care of it....it looks better than half of the 2004's i see

damn, that pic makes it look way to easy lol i just got a clymer manual on friday....can i split the cases? or does a shop have to do it? also how do i pull the gears off of the crank? thanks guys for all the help i appreciate it

thats a good thing to know because i did think there was stuff that would pop out and shit lol so its pretty easy to put a crank in then? can i split the cases or do i bring it somewhere to be done? thanks

ive got a guy that works on my 2-stroke sleds and dirtbikes but the thing is that he owns i think 2 or 3 drag banshees and is always at silver lake sand dunes and competes in the drags every weekend i know this is going to sound like BULLSHIT but he fucks banshees up one of my dads buddys from work used to drag at silver lake to and he had a 3 cylinder trinity engine and brought it in there and the guy knew who it was...it went in there to get somthing clutch related because everytime he was getting ready to take off the clutch would engage and he would get false starts...well to make a long story short my dads friend got it back went to the drags and ended up he jetted it while it was there and wasnt even supposed to and fried the engine....other than him there is only one yamaha dealer and there DICKS im only 20 make decent money at work so id kinda rather take it in and have it done by someone that does it for a living than me do it myself and end up screwing it up and having to take it there anyway...im not unfamilar to 2-strokes just unfamilar to bottom ends...i wish i had someone to help me out with the bottom end hell id be more than willing to pay them and give them a couple cases of beer haha my dads got a MINT rz 350 kenny roberts edition in the garage with some port work and bigger carbs kinda thinking about yanking that engine haha

i looked on the site but couldnt find much so i figured id ask about the pancake bearing so i and other people wondering could learn a lil more about them.....are they worth the time and money and do they actually work, also is it a must for a light modded engine? thanks

il let you know i just dont think il let my bottom end go for $100 bucks no offence or anything but good cases go for more than that and my cases are PERFECT id rather give you 400 and keep my bottom end il let you know either way thanks man

when i picked up my banshee 2 weeks ago there wasnt any noises from the engine all i did is change from maxima super m to klotz r50 now it seems to have a knocking sound do you think it is the oil or do you think that it was going to make the noise with or without changing oil this quad i wierd i started it...there wasnt a noise then the noise came up and was decently loud then it settled down to only being able to barly hear it at idle tell me what you think, wristpin bearing?

that is a good damn deal but i just picked up the shee 2 weeks ago and have ran it very little since ive had it due to it being 15 degrees out....i started it up yesterday and it runs like a raped ape but there is a slight noise that can only be heard at idle so i think it might be a crank bearing or a wristpin bearing im not sure yet i was just wondering what kind of labor rates i would be looking at for splitting the cases and putting new bearings and seals in just so i would know i am also putting in a new top end and boring it but can do that myself il let you know after i tear it down and see what it is.....can anyone give me a ballpark figure on what it costed them to have the cases split and new crank installed or just new bearings and seals thanks guys for the help

as far as labor how much do you think i would be looking at? i can do almost everything as far as disassembly but i dont even want to mess with the bottom end like the trans gears and shit....i dont have the patience to do that lol

i was thinking about putting some new crank bearings and seals in my 96 shee how much money should i expect spending?? im going to pull the top end off myself and also since its apart should i get the crank welded so i dont have to worrie about the bottom end any time soon. thanks

mine was doing EXACTLY the same thing just yesterday so i went to my local yamaha dealer and with some help from this site i replaced the plugs cleaned out my carbs really well made sure my choke tube was hooked up (which it wasnt before i took off the carbs) and put new gas and oil in now she runs like a raped ape....i would say try new plugs check your pilots and check your choke tube worth a try

hmm it seems to idle pretty good....this box directly above the left pipe is the right box isnt it? just want to make sure its not like the cdi box....thanks

i have my t.o.r.s removed but noticed the lil black box by the left pipe is still pluged in will it affect anything or should i disconnect it thanks

you buy a tors elimanter kit...there like 50 bucks comes with new caps for carbs
