  1. when i let the cluch out it stalls the engine every time. i put it what i think is first and try to let the cluch out and it dies. i clicked up to what i think is second and had to really rev up to get the bike to take off. and then it just dies and locked the wheels up. but every time i try to let the clutch out to take off it just dies. i am really stumped on this.
  2. for the clutch play it starts to grab about 3/4 of the way released. as far as which gear it is stuck in. i am not sure. see it feels like it will go into first and can click it up to second. but i can never get it to drop back into nutural. even with the bike shut off it wount click into nutural. i have to pull the cluch lever to get the bike to push any where. other wise its in a gear and the back wheels grab any try to roll the engine over.
  3. ok, heres the problem. last time i rode my banshee i was having troubles shifting. felt like it was hard to get into gear. and also i couldnt get the trans to go into nutural at a compleat stop. would have to shut the bike off to get it to go into nutural. today i started it up and was in nutural just reving the engine up, and all of the sudden it droped into gear all by its self and stalled out. now it seems like its stuck in gear now. i cant get it to go into nutural at all. have to pull the clutch in to push bike because it wont go into nutural. so my question is, what do you think happend?? any help would be great.!!
  4. hey everyone. i have a couple of problems that i am hopeing you all can help me out with. first of all i was riding my banshee today and i shut it off, and when i went to restart it the kick starter quit working. it feels like there is no resistance to roll the crank over. next i notice that the trans fluid looks miky and has a coolant color to it and is over full. i suspect coolant is entering it, but from where and how?? what went wrong?? this is my first banshee and i havent really done much work to it or know what failed? and do i need a new kick starter unit? and how do i fix the problems?? any ideas or help would be great!! thanks!

  6. well, here is another update. i took the carbs compleatly off. elimanted the tro switches and converted it to 1/4 twist throttle, put 27.5 pilot jets and 280 mains with the needle clip on the 2nd one down from the top. put it all back togeather and now idles and runs pretty good. have the mix screw out about 1 turn. now all i have to do is run a plug check and see where i am at. this dang washington weather is rainy so havent got to do a good ride and the plug check, so i am waiting for the nicer weather to run it and check.
  7. ok, here is a update on the carbs. i took them a part and checked the jetting. idle jet was a 32.5 and the main was a 260. i thought the idle jet was a little to rich so i swaped it out for a 25 put them back togeather and checked the running. now the bike wont idle and backfires pretty bad. try ajusting the idle screws and no change. try messing with the air screws and seems to run a little better turned out 1/2 turn from the bottom but still backfires. so what did i do wrong?? am i way to lean now?? i have the tro switches on the carbs still and i am thiking about converting the to take them off. any other ideas?? shoud i go with a fatter idle jet??? thanks
  8. hello everyone. i am new to the group. i just bought a 98 banshee this last weekend. my problem is that i think it needs jetted. heres whats going on. starts up just fine cold or warm and idles good. go to take off and seems to have a bogging spot in the throttle just off idle if you slowly press into the throttle until you hit about 1/4 to 1/2 throttle, then takes off like a raped ape. now during acceleration it smokes pretty bad through all gears but doesnt bogg at all and when brought down to a idle was still smoking pretty bad. kill switch it and there was smoke comming out my exhaust lightly with the engine off. here are the mods that the guy told me when i bought it. it was bored .020 over, FMF fatty pipes, K&N air filter cone type with air box and lid still, and he said it was ported but i he didnt say how much. i havent torn into the carbs to see what jets are in it. and i live in washington state at evevation of around 500 feet. any help would be great!!
