  1. Just for shits and giggles what does kolbs cases look like,I recently sent back two trannies.From my research the springs on the shaft are binding and fighting each other.I set both trannies in cases and spun it on an electric motor at low rpm.My cases got trashed quick
  2. With a 2.36 ratio primary drive I ran 16/39 and 17/39 in the 1/4.With the 16 I actually gained mph on the big end.Stock ratio primary I have seen all sorts of nonsense,but most ran 17/18 and 40 in back.You will also need to see what your motor will pull,its very easy to over gear
  3. I got all you need to know,I can make you a custom harness and clean up that mess you got going on.

A company called upp makes the boots and I have moved many air boxes back to accomodate bigger carbs,it takes a little fabrication,a little cutting.If you need me to move it let me know i can give you a hand. Whatever you do dont take a chunk out of the middle thats the dumbest idea Ive heard,I have ways to get around that

  8. I wouldnt use a base plate with your set-up,but if you do, set up the entire rotating assembly with top-end and run a degree wheel to scribe some marks.

I just spoke to greg over at wcr .Im sending the trannies back to him tommorow for a look over,he is pretty confident that there is nothing wrong with the units I have being that they are 5th,6th clutch.He told me he has numerous units in florida running with no problem,so far he has only heard of 1-5s with problems.I guess ill keep you guys posted

  12. I have four diffrent trannies side by side rite now,dont count the wcr overide out yet,he needs to work out some shit,this tranny is not far off the reg dunable I have in my black bike,all trannies are using same basic concepts and I beat my black bike every track day

Yeah I can granny shift the bike (wackos bike) but who the hell wants that.I have a cub no overide that shifts fine in dirt but wont on the street,everything is new inside ,spared no expense,you still cant shift it,everybike is diffrent.The first time I got joes bike it was brand new motor from passion,ported assembled whole business,it wouldnt shift.I tore the motor down an put a tranny in from her jugs,it shifted but spit out gear,I took his easy spring off and went to a stock star still didnt help.So I figured go overide against joes wishes,now I have an overide sitting here that I wont put in because im not happy.I know other bikes shift but his does not
  14. Ohm out the secondary side of the coil to test your plug caps,start simple.Check pick-up gap

To me your blow down numbers seem low,I dont see a problem with going to 194 except limitations of the pipe.shearers and cpi are your best bet from 194 and up ex.drag ports are higher than 196.I personally have found that a staggered port design works better for me at least.Since I have started porting I learn something new on each set.Do your self a favor,build a whore motor and test shit out within the same parameters.I have personally spent thousands on tooling.A dremel and a dream is not going to get you where you want.I have wasted tons of parts on test peices but learned alot with what works and what does not.

  18. I dont get what your asking,how is your set-up compared to his,timing,gas,tires,clutch,tranny,stock/dragport,carbs.This all plays a role and sometimes 2 tenths is alot

I ran a drag ported bike on a stock trans and it shifted but some bikes dont want to.I put a stock star back in and the stock spring to stop it from jumping out of gear,nothing helped.The angle of the dogs caused this.Im going to cut wacko a trannie he can backload.Just bought a rotary table for my my mill to reshape the drum a lil
  20. The two trannies I have both have springs and retainer clips,I can see where he was going with the spring on the input shaft its just not going work,it fights itself.Ther was a clear 1/8 inch I was able to push the gear after shifting it

I just tried to upload pics but im having trouble with my comp.,ill have my wife try a lil later,.Ill be the first one to tell you joe is an animal on his shee.Im also getting tired of splitting his cases.His tranny was installed correctly and chewed up the forks due the back cuts on the sliders trying to push out of gear while freewheeling after letting off the gas.I spent alot of time examining all thes trannies side by side ,measuring and marking freeplay in each gear.I have all the tools to cut a tranny but maybe someone has suggestions on what works
