Today i put my vitos timing key in and prepared for the massive 2.1 horsepower gain. lol, anyways. I fired it up and it ran great. Loaded it on the trailer and towed it about 10 miles to our favorite riding spot. Offloaded and started kicking. No fire. I had a dumb ass attack and forgot to see if the red switch was on. (dont laugh, i know all you have done it) I then flipped the switch to on and gave her a kick and about that time it kinda sounded like a mix between a banshee running, a hammer on sheet metal, and a cannon shot. I instantly knew what it was, sheared that damn keyway in 2 starts. WTF vitos? Not too happy. anyways, It backfired so hard im pretty sure the neighbors called the cops, What about my bearings and seals in the lower half? It seemed to run alright after puting the stock back in but damn.

What do you mean by that? They cant ride...lol Ive been riding things with handlebars for almost my whole life, it was kind of a natural transition for me. But i dont want to be bottlenecked up with a bunch of people who cant ride.

Yah, Im planning on racing the ironman in October. Full skid plates, does it get that gnarly on shit?

Cool guys thanks for the help. Sounds like its going to be fun.

Hi, I just bought a 2002 banshee. Its got pro circuit pipes, K&N, handguards, and holeshots. I would like to race some cross country races strictly for fun. I dont really plan on being too competitive. Im thinking about hitting the last round of the GNCC series in Indiana. What do i have to have to race a GNCC? Are their any other cross country series around southern MI or northern IN? my list so far goes like this: Im going to ditch the airbox and stock style K&N for a set of pods and outerwears New holeshots before the race, probably the GNCC versions head will be shaved by then I will need motocross boots i would imagine. What about a chest protector? What about things like number plates? I know nothing about ATV number plates. tear offs? I guess im just not sure about a lot of things in the ATV racing scene. What about fueling up? I assume i wont be able to run 2 hours on one tank of gas?

new banshee owner, dont want to burn down!

I ended up finishing with a 330! Hard to believe that pro circuits and K&N - airbox lid could flow 60% more air! 13 sizes larger than stock in 20 degree temps. -
"put out about 239.6hp and 158.7 foot pounds of torque"

Cool!, I found it on the garage floor 2 days later!

I want to ride and the dealership sais it will be 7 days. Is it really going to hurt anything. Ive thought about it and i dont think it will hurt anything seeing as how the height of the main really doesnt matter.

the banshee is fixed. The pilot jet in the right carb was plugged making it seem as if the main was way fat. I ended up puting the 200's i started with back in and it ran terrible even though i started with a good running machine on 200's. Just a coincedince that the pilot got plugged when i started the jetting process. Right now i have 280's in it. WAY TOO LEAN. Tommorow i am working my way down from 350's. THANKS GUYS FOR ALL YOUR HELP! -

will try that tommorow. I put new gas in today and it didnt change anything, doesnt surprise me. tommorow is my day to work on it. disconnect tors to see if it makes s difference, if not then full carb clean and disassemble. compression check -

they were both disconnected at once. When i did this it wouldnt even run above idle. Basically the TORS was doing its job. -

im going to put a new tank of fuel and amsoil dominator 32:1 tommorow also. Weve had a serious cold spell in MI the last couple days and alot of cars are getting condensation. I never thought of this. If it runs good ill have to go back to 300's and repeat the process! :: -

Could it be possible that i bumped float height or a needle or something? I just seems like their is too much fuel to be burned at wide open. As i increase the throttle up to about half it runs like crazy but when the throttle is increased past half it starts loosing rpms and pops. Then if you move the throttle back to half it takes off like crazy. When it is sitting in neutral idling i can grab the throttle and pin it and it just bogs out. But if you blip it a couple times then it will rev up. also im not sure if it matters but i unhooked the TORS at the clutch not at the first connection as you instructed. I can quite get to the first connection behind the radiator. sorry about all this im just trying to give you guys the best description i can. I really appreciate all the help. Should i get a video? or just go leaner and take it easy, see what it does. -

I disconnected the box and rode it, it didnt change anything. I then unplugged the clutch switch and it killed everything. walking speed at most. The choke hose is connected between the carbs. Im sure of it. Slides have never been out of them. Atleast not since ive owned it. Im running a K&N filter, its oiled but dry to the touch. I just dont understand why it wants such a lean condition to run? I dont get it. Im afraid to go leaner. But thats where it runs better. 3 days ago it ran GREAT on 200. So i dont think it could be electrical. Should i try 230's??? -

Oh my god somebody help me. I put 250's in thinkin it would be fine. Nope, same bog at WOT. Disconected TORS at the box and it ran no different. Disconected it at the clutch cable and it ran about idle only. Put new plugs in and still had the bog. So far ive tried 300, 280, 270 and now 250 main jets all with bog. But its gotten slightly better. When i got the banshee about a week ago it had 200's in it and it ran perfect. idle is perfect, half throttle feels like full and full throttle just bogs and sputters. should i go leaner? or what? The only reason i started changing jetting was becuase i thought it was too lean for pipes and winter. -

well i know it isnt the TORS becuase when i got the banshee it had the stock 200 in it and it ran like a raped ape. But i guess it could have been rich then too. Ill check that out. Thanks a lot. -

after doing some searching i think it looks like i need more like 320 or more. Where can i find out about this "clip" thing that some people are saying could also be moved slightly richer. Im going to also turn my idle air adjusting screws in about a half turn, this ought to help my idle. Thanks for the help. anybody else want to chime in? -

alright i plan to remove the airbox snorkal also. So with the snorkal removed and pipes 280 is enough fuel in 10degree weather? Or should i go 300? -

sorry to be a dick but telling me its a "time bomb" doesnt help me. I know what a main jet is. Im not sure whats in it now but i know its jetted for warm weather. If somebody could tell me what main to run 1000 ft up and in 20 degree temps id be thrilled. -
Hi, I just bought a banshee that has pro circuit full pipes on it. The jets were NEVER changed by the previous owner. Also it was never ridden in the cold. I have been riding it lately and noticed a small bog in my low rpm range. Its about 10-20 degrees here everyday now. What jets should i change? and what jets should i be running in the summer? Also what are the stock sizes?

Hi, I just bought my first banshee today. I have a few questions about it though. Not sure whats going on here. When i am starting my banshee it tends to roll forward...even with the clutch pulled. Whats the deal here? Is the clutch bad or something? As soon as the first pop is heard through the pipes the quad moves forward as if it is in gear slightly or you dont have the clutch pulled in all the way. I have a weird misfire issue. When i am running say in 3rd gear at a relitively low rpm only the left exhaust is heard. As the throttle is increased the right cylinder will start sputtering around 1/4 throttle and then it kicks in and away you go ready or not. It does not do this when riding hard. Only when cruising and slowly increasing the throttle. Is this a sign of something to come or is something out of adjustment or is this normal? Also it seems like i have no low end power. I have to really rev to get going in first. Is this becuase its 10 degrees out? The quad has pro circuit exhaust on it and the jetting has never been changed. Is this bad? Basically i want to know what to look for so i dont regret it later! thanks
