  1. Not sure if your talking about the inner basket or what, but I just put my clutch back together and I overtightened that big ass nut and the inner basket wouldnt rotate freely like it should. I pulled it back apart and then re-assembled it and didnt tq the nut down as much as before and now it moves how it should. Also with the pressure plate on and the springs and screws installed I dont believe the basket will move by hand.
  2. If you havent changed the oil, prob a good time to do so. Oil breaks down really quick in 2 stroke bikes. On all my bikes ( my shee, rm250 and rm125) I change out my case oil after every major ride or every other ride. Many people have different opinions on what oil to use for the clutch case, everyone has a different opinion on different oil but when some of them are $5qt it adds up really fast. I put ATF type F in all my bikes and never had any problems plus it only cost about a $1qt so its not expensive to change out frequently.
  3. The hard start does sound like a lean condition, eventhough fmf supplied the jets, each bike is different and sometimes they can be a little off. Have you tried turning the air screw in at all to see if that helps at all with the cold start? If you turn it in and it helps then richen up the pilots a little. Either way def pull the carbs and inspect them for debris and float adjustment. Also eventhough you checked to see if the slides were going up and down they can still get hung up when riding the bike on occassion, it only takes a second for it to get hung up and have you at WOT and let you know something isnt right. Also if not the cable, check for air leaks around the intake boots, and like mentioned def check the floats and make sure they are adjusted right, if either are present (cracks causing and air leak, or floats adjusted wrong) you could be starving for fuel which can also create a lean condition and make the bike REV out when riding. Good luck
  4. What oil you running in the clutch case? I would think if the cltuch was worn you would drag in the higher RPM's as well?
  5. What jets are you running? If your lean, it can make it hard to start when cold but be normal when its warmed up. A lot of things can factor in as well, such as an air leak somewhere or something. What do you plugs look like? Also make sure your floats are adjusted correctly and everything is nice and clean on there. As for throttle sticking open, make sure your cable is routed correctly and its not getting hung up on anything. Also make sure your cable isnt worn out. Since you will prob be pulling the carbs, go over the cable while your at it just to make sure.
  6. I pulled it back apart and everything seemed normal, so i re-installed and just used a tad less tq and its spins freely now. So i guess it was tq's to much or something, i dont see how because of the spacers and such but we'll see if i blow out my side case when its running i guess
  7. Off Topic: Is planet sand working correclty? I cant seem to navigate anywhere and eventried to re-register?
  8. ok then i guess something is off somewhere, any ideas what to check? Its kinda wierd cause it spins freely then kinda gets caught up on something. It doesnt jam up or anything but it gets harder to turn. Could it have anything to do with it not being oiled up at all? Other than that I cant really think of anything that is making it drag when i turn it by hand Also could I have maybe torqued down to much? Would that have the same effect?
  9. I picked up a used shee and the clutch had no pressure to it at all so I pulled the cover and it either looks like the previous owner didnt install the clutch correctly or for some reason that big nut that tightens down the basket came loose resulting in no clutch action. I got it back together and torqued down the big nut but I noticed the inner basket or whatever its called doesnt rotate real freely. It seems to hang up a little but still does turn. Should the inner basket turn or not, if so how easily? Could it just be cause there is no oil in there yet to lube it up? Just wanted to see where i stood before I put the rest of it together. Thanks
  10. hey man they are 9" rims, I may have another set in storage but wont be able to get there till after the weekend most likely. If anything pops up i will let ya know
  11. I have to dig them out of my garage so I'm not positive if they are 10" or not, I will get on it tomorrow afternoon. I believe they are just polished rims, and if i remember they are in pretty decent condition. Like I said though i will let you know tomorrow either way.
  12. I think I have an extra set of 10" rims in my garage if your interested. Just let me check and make sure they are the 10's
  13. hey man, i'm pretty sure that is a 87 T4. It doesnt look like you have the gull wing lower a-arms and you rear shock rezzi is on the frame as the 88's were on the rear sub frame. Still a very nice quad either way.
  14. dang that would of been good but i sold the shee last night, thankl though
  15. I have my 00 banshee up for sale, looks like I will be moving south possibly for work and cant take any of my quads with me and this is the last one left. It is all stock for the most part except fmf powercore2 silencers, they could use new end caps $60 from fmf from the previous owner wheeling it to far back. Other than that has DG push bar, bark busters, and fly bars I believe. This quad has low hours on it, i bought it of a guy in NY who had no where to ride it and basically just rode it around the streets near him. Starts right up, normally 2nd kick when cold and always 1st kick when warm. All the lights works, has the key with ignition. Very reliable quad, mod it up yourself or leave it how it is. I will ship it if I have to but thats up to the buyer to take care of the process, etc. My zip is 18966 which is right outside philly, pa Any questions just ask, i can send more pics also to emails so if you want more let me know. I will provide a bill of sale and the previous owners registration from it being registered in NY so you should have no prob regerstering it wherever you live i would assume. Asking $2800 obo, I'm open to offers. And please if you dont have interest in the quad i dont want posts saying price to high, or I bought my banshee for a $1.
  16. is your bike a 99 or 00, cause it says 99 in the post but 00 in your sig?
  17. where in PA you located, I have an 00 with very low hours on it but its basically stock
  18. Just like the title says, i need and upper right a-arm if your sitting on the quad asap, please let me know, i have paypal ready or whatever
  19. by chance could you need new top ends? How many hours are on them? Jetting doesnt sound to bad but I would think you need your pilots up higher, maybe around 35's instead of 27.5's but if you said it was fine before i'm not sure. Sounds like a lean condition somewhere because of how hard it is to start when it finally does, thats what i would think, pilots are to low, air leak somewhere or the reeds were your problem but i guess something else is going on. How long did it sit for before this happened to you? Possible your floats are off, sometimes that can describe what is happening, when your getting in the higher RPM range possible not enough gas is getting through or maybe a ring is stuck......
  20. yeah a gap between the reeds and the cage is not good so it could be your problem, hopefully it is something simple like that, what size are your pilot jets as well, the reed problem with gaps can make a bike hard to start. Good luck
  21. what did you do when you changed the jetting? If nothing else is working that is mentioned I would assume your jetting is way off, normally its a lean condition when something is hard to start and it needs to be pop started. Also make sure you have no air leaks anywhere as well which could cuase a world of trouble starting it and even in the short/long run if you have been running it this way
