  1. So was I my man, so was I. With the right tools and basic 2-stroke carb tuning knowledge found here and all over the internet anyone should be able to tune twins.
  2. But then again, so are twins with the correct tools.
  3. 64mm or 2.520" is stk bore diameter. Use calipers or a ruler and eyeball the diameter.
  4. What's up fellas? I don't mean to thread jack, but figured since you ride Pismo I was wondering if any of you have any leads on a left control arm? We need j-arms actually. Old, tight stockers would be fine. Will buy both sides if necessary. We're down here now and will travel. LMK
  5. Looking for a set of J-arms and lower A-arms for my buddy's 89 to make emergency repairs. Willing to drive any where. Let me know what you got.
  6. My 02 rides at sea level on the west coast. Mods are in my sig. Why does he think the motor is lean? Has he done a proper plug chop? I would think with his mods, 280's are very, very close, but I don't know what DMC's like for jetting. IMO, 320's would be very rich with his mods, but like others have said, run the 320's and see how she feels.
  7. I haz stock intakes with stock cross-over tube and stock reed cages I don't need. The set came off my 02 and they're in excellent shape. PM me if you're interested.
  8. If your leakdown test doesn't pass, use a spray bottle with soapy water to help find the leak. If you see bubbles, you found the leak.
  9. I have just a kicker for ya. PM me if interested.
  10. Part of the TORS elimination is adding idle screws.
  11. Care to elaborate a little on how the Toomey Needles will help with tuning issues? I have a set and I just want to learn about them. Most everyone says Toomey Needles are junk...
  12. What is the TORS Delete Kit you speak of?
  13. Do the stage 3's offer comp, rebound and pre-load adjustability?
  14. I'm looking for a mint set of blue gas tank side covers and the radiator cover.
  15. What are your plans for your banshee?
  16. Oh ya, my bad, you need to run race gas to squeeze out 80rwhp out of a 4mil stk cyl dune port.
  17. Ah, thanks for the info!
  18. Yep, that's why I'm building a 4mil pump gas dune port stk cyl as my Duner and save myself the $800 price tag for aftermarket cylinders. At 64.5-65mm bore it's a 379-385cc 4mil stk cyl. Here's what you get from FAST for a 421 Serval. $1723 + $350 for porting. So ~$2100. http://www.farmandsandtoys.com/partdetail.asp?partid=403 For ~$800 less you can have a 4mil stk cyl making ~80rwhp. But if $$$ is no object, get the 4mil Serval.
  19. Are you guys serious?
  20. Here are a couple dyno rips of different set-ups found here in the Dyno Room Forum. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showforum=55&prune_day=100&sort_by=Z-A&sort_key=last_post&topicfilter=all Redline Racing 4mil stk cyl dune port pump gas. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=148961 Redline Racing as cast 421 Serval vs. ported Serval. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=150211 Cruise the suspension forums too. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showforum=39
  21. Make sure the tube between the carbs is there as well. That tube connects the right carb to the left carb's choke.
  22. IIRC, ^^^ haz 10mil Serval.
  23. do you have idle screws installed? What's your elevation, jets and mods? I use a cheapo ebay digital tach to set my idle around 1450-1550 rpm. A carb sync tool from FAST to sync the carbs.
  24. Bottom line is, you really shouldn't build a Trail/Dune bike out of one Banshee. You're better off building a Duner out of the Banshee and keeping your Raptor as a trail bike, cause in reality, that's what they really are anyway... Aftermarket cylinders are going to run you ~$800 whether they are 4mil, 10mil, Serval or Cub. A 4mil HotRods crank is ~$400 A 10mil Crank is double that and then some cause I don't think there is a forged 10mil crank so you have to go billet, but I'm not 100% sure about that. Plus for a 4mil or a 10 mil stroker you'll definitely need more supporting mods, ie., larger reed cages, larger intakes, larger carbs, new pipes, new clutch and depending on 4mil or 10mil, you probably need a lock-up clutch for the 10mil, oh and a head with custom domes for the extra stroke of both the 4mil or 10mil. Not sure what kind of a budget you have, because $$$ can get out of line, really, really fast... My 02 is going to be my Trail Banshee with a MotoX port good for 60-65rwhp. My 87 wil be a 4mil Dune Port stock cylinder Duner good for 75-80rwhp.
