  1. Thanks, but would it be ok too make a bolt myself as i need the bike this weekend and i can't trust my dealer to get me a bolt by then. Steve
  2. Hey, when i came too change my top a-arm bushings last week the top bolt had seized in the collar (rod), i had too cut the bolt off too remove the arm, i can't find a replacement bolt anywhere, today i got a metre length of 10mm high tensile threaded bar will this be ok to make a replacement bolt?, just thought i'd check before rebuilding it. Also how do u guys clean your outerwears for your air filters, can you put them in the washing machine? Thanks
  3. Thanks for replying guys, the arms have a needle bearing on either side that is pressed in level with the outside of the arms the same as bushes, there is then a collar or rod that pushes through the bearings that the bolt goes through, there is no grease nipple on the arms or grease inside the arms, i'm guessing that's why they broke up, any more info if bushes would be ok. Thanks
  4. Yes bushings, sorry guys i'm from the UK that's what we call them.
  5. Hey, i stripped out my top a-arm today too fit new bushes that i bought last week, when i came to remove them i found that they were needle bearings not bushes, i just want to know if i can fit the bushes instead of the needle bearings as the bushes are the same dimensions and will fit with a few mods, i don't know what make the arms are i just know they are +2 +1. Thanks Steve
  6. please, please help out
  7. Thanks, but does it matter that i am running no lights etc etc, will it cause a problem being connected.
  8. I am hoping to start the shee tomorrow after rebuild just a few questions, i stripped out the wiring harness and i think maybe the blue wire was disconnected from the voltage regulator and the two earth cables were broken off at the regulator bolt do these need to be connected if i'm running with no lights or ignition key etc? as they've been removed, will it matter if they are now connected as i've taped up the whole harness now, i just wanna know if it will cause any problems, also where do u route the breather pipes that come out of the cluch case where they come off at the T- piece. Thanks STEVE
  9. Hey guys, i've got a 1996 shee that's set up for mx, i've had the bike around 8 months and i've been really disapointed with it, i expected a lot from the bike as i've heard such good reviews about the bikes performance, the bike was reported to be scary fast and lift the front end through most gears but doesn't, the powerband hits but it just lacks the excitement factor i was expecting, when i bought the bike we put new pistons in it for piece of mind, i've recently removed and cleaned the carbs fit new plugs and new K&N filter, i was wanting to know how to check the reeds and what to look for if there shot, also i stripped out all the wiring just to check it and found a few cables frayed so repaired them, which way round do the black and orange cables go on the coil or does it not matter?. My last question is the bike has the lights, TORS, park brake and ignition key barrel removed, does it need the two black earth cables connected at the voltage regulator bolt, does it need the blue cable connected from the voltage regulator as i don't know if they were connected or not before i stripped it down, if not will it matter if they are connected. Thanks Steve
