  1. sounds like to me you should of just got your stock cylinders ported. It would have been alot cheaper and when you out run him with your trex cylinders (which you will) he could just spend another grand give or take a little and gets cubs and beat you again. But you shouldn't have anything to worry about beatin a stock piped banshee with the trex's. I misunderstood from the beginning, I thought you wanted to get the fastest shit thats out their these days.

    Engine?

Ok I need a stock banshee engine it doesn't really matter about the shape it is in. as long as the lower end is ok and the cylinders(doesn't matter what bore). But if it is blowed up and just needs a top end that no big deal, cause I have a set of pistons and carbs and intakes and a head just need the rest. I need an engine to ride at the dunes the first weekend of October. Just let me know what ya got, also got some stock stuff i can trade plus cash.
  3. well I had some bad luck last night at the races. On my first run I got off the line alot better than last week with a reaction time of .107 and a 60ft time of 2.009 but then my clutch cable broke and I couldn't get it to shift very well but i got it out of third into fourth but no more. so i let off alot and tried shifting with no luck. I only got to run once but their is always next week my new cable is on order. I ended up running a 9.774 at 67.08mph. Just wish I could get one decent run with no flaws, but I was happy that I am getting better on the take off.
  4. There is not a set time on blow up it just depends on how much you take care of it and if the jetting is right. Break in is also a pretty important factor. Everyone has their own special way of doing it but I just run it through about three heat cycles letting it cool down completely in between each cycle then the fourth time i start it i let it warm up then start riding it pretty hard. Then I am usually done. But just make sure you have someone jet your bike a little rich nevers hurts. You will find this out when you have to buy the first set of pistons. 80hp isn't bad but its a 440?? I think i remember you saying. Well look at the 421 cubs some of them with the right set up are above 90hp. with a lot less money put into them.
  5. You beat me to it Big Blue. Also Blanco, have fun rebuilding it when something goes wrong cause the only place you can buy the pistons is from Racers Edge or DASA (same place) and they are $250 a set! But it is your money and you can do with it what you want but before you get too deep get rid of the trex and go to cub, believe I know. Hopefully this will be my last year with my cylinders. Also that big of bore with stock stroke! It will have all kinds of low end with the powervalves but the top end isn't much better than any other shee. Another thing you will kill that engine with your pipes atleast try and find some CPI's. Anyways just thougth I would chime in a little hoping you might learn from my mistakes, the Trex is just old school, its like anything as time goes on technology gets better hince the Cubs! The port layout on the trex isn't very efficient.
  6. Thats cool I wasn't sure how many college students we have on here. Well I am Thomas Hartsell-Central Missouri State University
  7. Well yeh you might be right, it all depends on how i can get off the line I have been outside my house practicing slipping the clutch some but its really hard cause my road is chip and seal and it will just burn out if i don't do it right. But last friday I was at 17/41 and was just at the end of fifth and now I am at 15/42 so we will see how it goes. If I can just cut my 60ft time down i will be happy cause I know I am not going to run no 7's I am hoping to just get low 8's. But we will see!
  8. Yeh hopefully that doesn't happen, if so I will just let off. But I am going to be running 15/42 so I think I should be alright.
  9. Wish mine ran that good! But I need to learn to ride the one I have now, I am gonna go back this friday I think and try it again. I got my whole rear carrier chain situation fixed and geared it a little lower so I am anxious to see what it will do. I will keep ya posted!
  10. Title says it, anyone on here got a facebook account? For those of you who don't know what it is, it's for college students to talk to their old grade school and high school buds that went to college across the states or even across seas!
  11. Well still, VP around here is still under $150.
  12. $40-$45 dollars for 5 gallons! Holy cow who ever you are buying that from is really gettin ya. Where are you from that might have a factor. I do know it has went up cause last year my first drum was only like $115. If you think thats alot try buying a 55 gallon drum of 114 its $400! One of the big reasons why I went to alcohol.
  13. Damn thats really quick! You could cut a couple tenths off your reaction and be even quicker.
  14. It's junk don't use it, you are correct on what it would do, it would change the firing times and it wouldn't run right.
  15. Yeh cause their could be something wrong with your lower end and that would really suck if you just bolted on your new cubs and it does the same thing, it would be wise of you to find the problem before putting her back together with all new stuff.
  16. yeh same here when he said expensive I am curious to know what he is paying cause I just bought a 55 gallon drum for the shee last tuesday and it was 132.50
  17. Its at KCIR (Kansas City International Raceway) It is meant for cars but they let quads race every wednesday and friday night which are grudge nights so you just pay 10 dollars to get in and 10 dollars to race as many times as you want from 6:00 to 10:00. No winnings just for sum fun. I can't remember what they call that shit at the beginning but it is some kinda of rubber compound that is really sticky! Bring your mustang too they race them all night long, street bikes too, last friday their was an R6 their on NOS runnin 162MPH in the 1/4 but they only let quads run the 1/8. http://www.kcir.net/~kcir/content/ heres their site. it has a map thing on their so you can plug in your location and it will tell you how to get their.
  18. no you don't have to send your seat in but you can and they will install it for free. I installed mine myself and like it alot.
  19. I don't think it really matters how well it performs cause it still looks like shit. I wouldn't want to ride that thing out in public!
  20. yeh i just put it up and am trying to figure out how to shrink it without messing up the quality. But I will make it smaller. sorry. Is that better for ya Shee-male, again sorry for the troubles!
  21. I am not 100% sure how long it can really go but when I don't burn any for a couple months and its sealed up really good it is just fine. By the way you say it is expensive, how much can you buy a 55 gallan drum for?
  22. I know i watched the video Travis put up, it does rip. I am trying to get Travis to come to Missouri one night to drag and hopefully teach me how to take off! I don't have slicks mine have tread on them i bouth them from Mike Ell he got third at Pikes Pead this year, but they are a couple years old and kinda bald but should they be alright or should i find some slicks?
  23. I know I am used to sand draggin and just dumping the clutch, but I couldn't do that the other night cause it would hook up way too hard, but I am going to go back this friday maybe and try it again.
  24. Man maybe sumthins fucked up with mine time cause it says I went 9.0 at 79MPH. Thats only three miles an hour slower but over a second and a half on the et. Why is that? I gotta practice alot on the take off, my 60ft time is 2.5!
  25. You are right on there Loco, my pistons are pretty heavy and the cylinders are like a boat anchor too. Another bad thing about them is you can only buy the pistons from Racers Edge because they have a patten on the pistons. Jeff at FAST is a Racers Edge dealer so he gets a little discount but they still costs me 225! The intakes are from a 93-99 yz 250 and the head is completely different too, so you have to buy the oring kit from them too. Your best bet is to go with the cub, mainly cause it is alot cheaper. Porting on the Trex through K&T I believe when i called a while back was gonna be 650. If you were to put the same amount of money in a bike with cubs that you did in a bike with trex, the cubs will win everytime. Like said before 500+cc's thats huge my buddys 10 mill 535 trex by k&t made 104 horse and a guy I know has a 421 cub on alky drag ported by GT makes 105, and he has spent half the money. But it is your decision Trex have tons of low end though.
