  1. I am pretty sure mine came with 55 pilots. Like I said before, they ran fine with my T5-'s but with CPI's, it would foul plugs until I went down to the 42's (sea level). Get those pilots out before you drive yourself crazy. Trust me, I spent an entire 3 day weekend before I made the drastic drop from a 55 to 42 before it ran right. I got it close the last day at 4pm. Are you trying to take your pilots out by just twisting the carbs around? You can do the main that way but pretty tough with the pilot. I suggest pulling the carbs completely out.
  2. Thanks. Let me know, if you will, what you find for the pilot. Mine had 55's and it ran great with my T5's. When I put my CPI's on, it would not run. It fouled plugs and would cough and sputter from just off idle to 3/4 throttle. Not having any other needles, I just played with the pilot and final got it to run with 42's. Seems strange that the pipe would make that big of a difference and if anything, I would have expected the exact opposite. I figured the CPI would like more jet. What pipes are you running?
  3. What size main and pilot jet did those come with stock? I have been fighting mine and am curious what they ship them with.
  4. Perfect. Very complete answer and THANKS! Kinda what I was affraid of. headed to the dunes Friday and sounds like I need to pick the lesser of the two evils.
  5. Thanks guys. Dunedemon, I have a 7.6 Eibach (I think...might even be an 8.2) WB was out of the rate I really needed according to the tech guys so I went to this one. I loved the way the bike took the bumps with the stock spring but of course the bottoming out has to go. I dropped my shock off at Yamaha last night to have it recharged. Question: Does the shock offer any support when fully charged? With gas shocks on a car, it is only enough to extend the shock when it has been compressed. I guess I was hoping that my shock was low on a charge and re-charging it might help out my stock spring rate????? Wishfull thinking? I was thinking about making a 1 or 2 inch spacer to give myself more pre-load. Is that not going to help me? I understand how springs work and I know that unless it is a progressive rate spring, the rate should be the same at 1 inch as it is with 4 inches. I would just think at some point, more pre-load would have to increase rate a bit? Again, Am I hoping for too much ???? BTW, I weight 180 and ride only the dunes. Thanks to all again.

  8. I bent a swing arm because with a stock spring, it bottomed out. I put an Eibach on but it is really stiff. I am hoping to put the stock spring back in if peolpe out there are running it with success. I might just need a re-charge to keep the bike off the stoppers...???...???
