  1. check that there is nothing clogging or blocking up your fuel lines. The fuel filter on my banshee cracked and when i rode it for more than 5 minutes and came to a stop, it would not rev past idle at all. I would shut it down, check the spark plug caps and look around the bike, then i would start it up and would run fine for another couple minutes. It was running out of gas becasue the fuel filter i had on there was letting gas leak out, when i shut it down and looked around it would get enough past to run for a little while. this is what i finally figured out, had me puzled for a couple days!!
  2. what?? What could reeds possibly be doing on a 4 stroke, they have valves so theres no reason for them. Sure that wasnt a CR 500?? Im intrested in seeing that, i have never heard of that before!
  3. i wouldnt be suprised actually! Whats worse is that i worked on a banshee with 1 piston facing forward and one facing backwards, thats kinda tough to get one right then one wrong!
  4. i know of a couple vintage dirtbikes that dont use reeds, never saw one in person though.
  5. anyone who has any experience with a blaster can be a very big help to me right now. I just got a blaster to mess around on then sell and im wondering about the sound it makes on deceleration and returning to idle when in nuetral. You can hear it making a pinging type noise, not detonation thought, sounds more like it may be jetted wrong. I have heard blaster always have a knock but this seems a bit excesive if you ask me, but i could be wrong. 1 person i asked said from what he hears it sounds normal, but i figure i would post this up anyway. Heres the videos, you can kind of hear it when the engine is dropping RPM's and returning to idle, and also when i decelerate when riding it. the blaster is totally apart now, i tore it down to the frame today and its getting a new paint job on the frame and some other small things, im not spending more than $100 on this thing!   6. Ive never seen a lower seat made for anything, your best bet is to just cut some foam off your seat .

  9. they really dont compare, i had a LT250r over the summer and it had good bottom end and all but the top was pretty week.
  10. alot of banshees in 2000 came with defective powerbands, ask the guy if he replaced his yet.

  12. when i rode a YFZ a couple weeks ago i can see what everyone says about the handling, but not so much the power. I mean it was quick but just didnt have the banshee's pull. After riding it i relized how much better a good suspension is over having alot of power, i am even considering trading the banshee for a long travel 250r that is if i find someone who wants to trade me

  16. Im just curious, but what would you sell your front end for? as in the socks, arms, and whatever goes with them. That looks like a good setup right there, how do you like it?
  17. may be the shift forks, my old RM 250 was hard to put into 1st and the trans acted funny some times. This was becasue of a bent sift fork, that is somethig to look for.
  18. ill be riding some local trails this weekend, ill see if i can make it next time. I finally rejetted it and i think it will be much faster next time out.
  19. my bike is a little wierd, my "on" will be good for about %50-%60 of the tank. when im riding it starts to bog all of a sudden, scared the crap outta me at first but now i know whenever that happens to swith it to reserve and its good for a hour or two.

  21. the project banshee is all stock, but the engine is .080 over. I have a 200 main, 25 pilot, middle clip, and 1 1/4 out on the airscrew which is factory specs. Will the fact that is .080 over require the jetting to be richer? After i put everything on this poped into my head, i have yet to ride it but i want your unput. Thanks!
