I have 66.5 mm art pistons (.60 over) in my banshee now. The rings are bad and I am having a very hard time finding replacement rings. Will rings for a weisco piston work? Should I just go ahead and purchase whole new pistons while I have the engine apart? If so what brand do you reccomend?

I bought a compression tester for my banshee and I only have 30 psi on the one cylinder I have to be doing something wrong. What is the proper procedure?
-
I have the msr raptor clutch perch and there are no wires going to it so it must already be removed.
-
What are the ebrake wires? I dont believe I ever had them hooked up. I was fairly sure it was part of the tors system which I removed. The bike did run before it threw a rod.
-
Ok I pulled the carbs and got a pic of the port although I dont know if it will help you guys. The pistons were in the right way. I already have the tors removed. Would the bike run at all if the degree key fell out of the crank? Anyway compression test is next on the list then I am going to throw a match in the gas tank and walk away lol.

I used the pistons and rings that the cylinders came with. The next step is to do a compression test I am going to go out today and buy a compression tester. I am running a foam filter but I have the lid removed on the stock air box.

I have the TORS removed. I checked both plugs and they are getting spark. A local engine builder did my porting. I am thinking that maybe I am getting too weak of a spark. Why would this happen after changing only the cylinders and crank is beyond me. Quad ran great before the cylinders. Another thing I am thinking of is if the top and bottom cases are sealed correctly. I used yamahabond and have a very slow leak coming from one of the studs that hold the cases together. Could transmission oil getting into the crank section of the case cause this to happen?

I just put in the 270 jets and the bike runs better but its still not rideable. It bogs and acts like the plugs are fouled. It revs slowly and seems like it is missing about 4000 rpms up top. I do not want to jet down any more sizes because I was pulling 290 jets no problem before the cylinders. What else can I check?

I am at leicester ma. Elevation of 1009 feet above sea level. I will popping in the 270 jets momentarily. Again thanks for all your help guys I appreciate it

I just rode it with the 290 jet in there and it bogs and I can barely get it over 5 mph at wot. I am going to jet down and see what happens. The machine is real easy to start. First kick no choke even when cold. There is a slight amount of oil coming from the silencers which I believe is telling me its too rich.

Well I threw a rod and messed up my cylinders, pistons and one of the rods. I then purchased a welded crank off ebay and these ported cylinders and pistons. The only thing I changed was the cylinders, crank and pistons. The guy I bought these off of was running 270 mains with dmc alien pipes and holes in the airbox lid. Thanks for all your help

Wouldnt air leaks allow me to run bigger than neccassary jets? Since the air leak would lean out the mixture? I know it doesnt sound right because my buddy ran 310s with just pipes and a filter. I am running the stock carbs. I also switched carbs with my buddy and it did the same thing so its not a carb problem. It is also not a spark issue because I switched cdi boxes with my buddy as well. I am running 100 octane fuel without advancing my timing. Could that effect anything?

Yea I am 100% sure they are ported. They are all silver and polished and the divider between the intakes is a lot thinner than stock. I am very confused as well. All though I definetly know that the 330 jets were drowning it with fuel as were the 310s. I haven't gotten a chance to ride it yet since the rebuild so I dont know if I gained any power. I elminated an over oiled filter because took the carb boots off for a few seconds just to see if it would change anything which it didnt.

I recently bought some ported cylinders for my banshee. I was running 290 main jets with toomey t5s, and a removed airbox lid. I decided to jet up to a 330 and go from there. The bike was way too rich and flooded the bike with gas would barely run and was very hard to get started. The bike would also rev have the rpms it would before the cylinders. I popped in the 290 jet and the bike revved much quicker. My question is can porting actually make your jetting go down? My bike still isnt running quite right and I think I am going to try a 270 or 280 main jet.

I just rebuilt my motor and when I started it for the first time the pipes were hot to the touch after running for 2 minutes idling. I still have to tune my carbs to my mods as I just picked up some ported jugs. I am running 330s with ported jugs, toomey t5s, and the airbox lid removed. I guess my question is would a too rich condition cause my bike to run too hot? The plugs were wet when I pulled them.

I have the trail tech lights and I wired them up to the black and yellow wires. When the switch is on high the lights are on. When the switch is on low or off the lights are off. You are correct in assuming there is no low beam only high. I believe black is ground and yellow is high beam. You can hook up the temp gauge to the lights but then it will only work when the lights are on.

I recently rebuilt my engine with all new pistons and crank. Well I split the cases and when I put them back together I torqued the top and forgot to torque the bottom (they were hand tight) so when I put the antifreeze in the bike it leaked. I torqued down the bolts on the bottom and the antifreeze leak stopped. I am just concerned that the antifreeze entered passages that it shouldnt. Is it possible that I could spin a crank bearing since the antifreeze made it in there or will it burn off? Do you think if I change my antifreeze and oil I should be fine?

That is exactly what happened to my piston on my bike, looks exactly the same piston blown to pieces and all. The funny thing is my spark plug on that side was finger tight. I contribute that to my piston failure. It seems as though it is the same thing that happened to yours. -
Are there any cracks or welds on the bottom case? Does it leak, how is the oil drain hole? I will take it if it is in good condition. Do you accept paypal?
-
If you are willing to seperate I will take the lower case for $100 shipped. My zip is 01611. Do you accept paypal?

I am looking for the bottom case to a yamaha banshee. My crank walked on me and tore up my lower case. Email me at [email protected] if you have one.

If you didnt fold down the tabs on the washer behind the clutch hub nut, it probaly backed out which would cause you to have no clutch. It is located behind the crankcase cover (the side with the kicker on it).

Would you be willing to sell just the silencers?
