I had the exact same problem you do and going to the 30 pilot cured it....

Me too, I'll ride through water at least a foot deep and have no issues with my carbs....

I don't see how you could be having detonation problems with that high of a main jet and the mods you listed. How long did you ride on the plugs when you did your plug chop? If you are lean it isn't from the jetting, you have an air leak somewhere. If you don't have any leaks I'd start off by dropping that main jet a couple sizes, mine choked on the top end when my main was too rich

I'd definitely go that route before changing your pilot jets...especially if you're not having trouble starting your shee.

What size is your pilot now? This is simply a theory but could be your problem...I'm thinkin since you're running so rich it's not burning all of the fuel and the excess fuel is bogging it down when you let it idle after a WOT run. Your pilot may not be your problem...just a guess though

I feel better now... My first time to the dunes too and I'm really torn on my tire situation as well. GBC says my tire would be OK in the sand and it has a paddle like tread but I don't wanna get out there and they suck ass. But on the same note, I ride trails 99% of the time and sand, oh, never...I'd love to say I'll become a regular to the dunes but with a 9 hour drive it kinda dampens things..wish I could rent a set of paddles Don't feel bad man, you are not alone

I'm debating on sleeping in the truck or pitching a tent...hadn't quite decided yet. One thing I was curious about though is do you guys lock up your quads at night when you sleep or do you just leave them chilling unlocked at the camp? Not sure how the thieves are out there....

I ordered myself a Noss Head with 21cc domes from dlnoss and couldn't be happier! He was great to deal with and had a really fast turnaround. While I was at it, I changed my coolant to engine ice and added an inline cooler (17 fin) I got from CEJ. I couldn't tell you the individual gains but altogether I ended up with 148psi in both cylinders (sea level) and after riding this weekend I noticed my temp had dropped by 40-45 degrees! Aside from that, I noticed a pleasing gain in performance on the lower end of the gears. I was able to climb hills with less effort and cruise around in lower RPM's without any hesitation or bog. Shee also seems to pull harder now throughout the powerbandl; basically improving the shee all around Installation of the head took about an hour for me and I didn't have to remove the plastics, pipes, or gas tank...dlnoss's instructions were clear and precise, giving all the info needed and even a phone number to call him at...that's what I call service I am extremely pleased with the results I've received and figured I'd pass the word on to those who don't already know....

I work for Regions Bank (formerly Union Planters) in the Operations dept...I babysit over 3,000 servers, routers, and websites until they break. Fix some of them, and when it's beyond my fixing I harass the technicians in 5 different regions to fix it...and of course, I have the joy of being able to surf some of the net and and the HQ When Regions took over UP they implemented this new server named "RTSurf" (Surf Control)....because of that now my internet surfing has been extremely limited...One thing that kills me is I can shop all day on ebay at work but can't check my hotmail account Hey Led, what kind of schooling did you go through to get that job? I'm kind of interested in doing something similar and not to sure which direction to head in...

I did what txblueshee said with the exception of the impellar and so far my temp has dropped 30-40 degrees cooler then before...I suggest the same thing, it definitely works
