JG1
Can someone explain to me how timing is adjusted on Banshee? I know rotating the plate clockwise advances timing and rotating counterclockwise retards timing. Why exactly does the rotation advance/retard timing? Is it the rotation of the Stator? The rotation of the pickup on the flywheel? Something other?
RagunCajun
The pick up is connected to the stator. Rotating it moves the location of the pick up. So the moment the flywheel magnet passes by the pick up is advanced or retarded. I am also nearly positive my terminology isn't correct. caleb90
Your correct cajun. Just think of it like a distributor. But insted of a rotor and cap, like you said when you move the pick up coil it changes when the spark is told to be sent via the fly wheel
