Desert Racing Banshee/TRX450R

Hey guys I’m sure this topic has been brought up 100s of times but I’ve done a couple races on my banshee I’ve got alba +2 arms, toomey t6 pipes, alba nerf bars, bored over a bit with boyeson reeds and k&n pods etc but i wanna get into desert racing more and I was wondering if you guys could help me out on if I should keep the shee or get a 450 if I keep the shee what should I do to it etc

Look at the dirt wheels article on a banshee built for desert racing. You’ll need long travel a arms, stock length swingarm, Elka rear link or move your shock mount on frame (DWs article), large tank, dc conversion for big lights. Your pipes are good bottom end pipe for stock motor, I would go PC for mid range. Out of the box no doubt the 450 is better with a way better frame and geometry

You could try to find a Sundahl Banshee frame. May be costly and hard to come by though.

450 for sure. If your not set on Honda, get the yfz450r. They handle better then anything I have been on. The Honda takes to much work.
But either way, you'll be far superior to the banshee.

Banshee’s are out dated for any kind of racing.

They are great for drag racing after being heavily modified.

For any Xc or mx your better on any 450.
Suspension is were it’s at not speed.
