Zacharysalis
i just recently bought my banshee off craigslist and on post it said it had a 418cc bore but i have been looking up bore kits and yet to find a kit that does a 418, so my question is is that bore size even possible or is it just a fib? Thanks.
WINDYCITYJOHN400
Fib It's possible… But it would have to be a 64.5 bore with a 10 mill crank. (Anybody with a motor like that would have PLENTY of details for you) Even a standard 4mill with bigger pistons only hits 403cc. To eclipse those numbers you would have to sleeve it for a 68 bore. I'm betting you got a major scam. Or the guy is doing some convoluted math based off of some overbore numbers he didn't understand. (No "bored 30 over" does not make a motor a 380) Edited April 24, 2014 by WINDYCITYJOHN400
Zacharysalis
it is a 4mill so i wonder what it actually is everything else about it is correct so maybe it doesnt even actually have a 4mill in it? but everything else that was written in the add was correct

Starwriter
That bike has been for sale for at least a year. Maybe 2. Has a lot of aftermarket parts, but it's sure ugly. Time to strip, repowder coat the frame, and recover the seat.
Zacharysalis
What's wrong with it ?
WINDYCITYJOHN400
What's wrong with it ? Claims it's a size it couldn't be. (Well it's POSSIBLE that it could be sleeved for a 68 bore…….But unlikely) Talks about a it being a big bore, but no mention of any porting. (bore doesn't make power in a 2-stroke. Porting is everything!) Were the carbs really bored? (Time to verify everything)

WINDYCITYJOHN400
Windy you'd understand if you knew the guy that "built" it.......unfortunately , I did. Oh, I don't know the details of the seller. I was commenting on the easy to see fails in the sale post. But trust me, i've heard enough so far about him to get a glimpse of the base individual we're starting with. I trust you're opinion of Sanford and Son is on point. Zacharysalis
So is there anyway I can check without tearing the whole engine apart
WINDYCITYJOHN400
Pulling a head is not tearing a whole engine apart. It's SLIGHTLY more work than a jetting change. Learn to wrench early....it's better than wrenching later.

Nieskes
Drain coolant. Pull head pipes. Disconnect coolant lines from head. Remove head nuts. Remove head. Read #s on top of piston. Report back with #s.Or take the plugs out and look with a light/borescope if he is lazy.
