  1. I recently put new rims on the front of my Banshee since the previous owner had bent one. Now, I notice that rear rim on the same side has a very slight wobble. Im planning on swapping sides on the back tires to see if the problem moves to the other side. If not, am I looking at replacing the axle and/or bearings ? Also, i notice that the front wheels will rock a bit when pushed and pulled at the top and bottom. Is this a bearing issue as well ?
  2. i just completed the tors delete mod this morning. It starts just fine, but when the clutch is pulled it idles really high. As soon as you let off the clutch is idles down just fine. Anyone have any ideas ?
  3. Why would you use a tether, and not just another switch ?
  4. My Banshee has a broken light switch and the prices of a replacements are pretty high. I was considering just bypassing the kill switch, and putting some kid of waterproof toggle switch for my headlights. I would just need the high beams, since im considering installing some small round LED lights. Something lower wattage than the factory bulbs. Has anyone ever done this ?
  5. I went to the Advance Auto today, and came across the K&N recharge kit for only $13. I picked it up and i cleaned the filter earlier, its still drying right now. The filter looked clean, but after i sprayed on the cleaner on it, it had some pretty nasty water coming off of it.
  6. The more reading I do, the more I think i should just stick with a box. My riding environment goes from dusty to muddy pretty quick. Can anyone tell me how they clean their K&N filters ? I read about using Simply Green for cleaning, and ATF oil when done. Any suggestions ?
  7. I havent performed a leak down test yet. My test kit just came in today. I bought one from "South Texas Banshee". m not sure if hes a member on here or not. I took the clamp off the boot when I was cleaning the carbs out. So that was what lead to my mistake of clamping off the transmission line. MY jets will be here today as well. Ill have 280s in the main, and 27.5 in the pilot. Im hoping to install the tors eliminator kit this week as well. After all this stuff in installed, im going to do a plug chop and see what it looks like.
  8. It still does this on the first start. After it runs for a few minutes it stops doing it. I read somewhere that it could just be thick oil and cold. My Clymers book will be here today. Im hoping to learn a lot from it.
  9. I checked the transmission lines this morning. Sure enough the one going to the back was plugged. Apparently, when i put the clamp on the boot for the airbox, i grabbed the transmission line as well and pinched it shut. Everything seems okay now. Just waiting for my new jets and, TORS eliminator kit to be here tomorrow.
  10. Thank you so much. Ill check on this first thing in the morning. I hope that this is what it is. I also have say, that Banshee in your profile photo is probably the greatest looking Banshee Ive ever seen. I love that color combo.
  11. I started the Banshee and let it idle for about 30 seconds and it started spitting out the overflow tube. However, it was spitting out what looked like oil. It didnt have a gas smell, just felt and looked like oil. I looked in the radiator and saw it has green coolant, and the overflow bottle in the back looked orange. Im afraid Im having some serious problems. My Clymer manual wont be here till Monday for me to read up on this.
  12. Thanks for all the info. Ive been doing a lot of reading in my spare time. I did find out what those numbers meant on the jets. I did some reading, and seems like a lot of guys running my set up and my altitude (1500'), run 280 jets. A lot of the post i read on here guys were leaving the stock pilot jets. I ordered some 280 main jets so compensate for the exhaust and air filter. I will order some 27.5 pilot jets if you think I should. I ordered myself a Clymer manual so I can learn a few things. Today I took the slides out of the carbs and I found that the left side slide was stuck what seems like a little in the open position. I pulled it out, and cleaned the slide and re-inserted it the correct way and put everything back together. Now, it seems to rev up normal. I still have to hold my thumb on the throttle to keep it idling, if i let off it dies. Now, Im a little worried. I drove it around for about 3 mins while checking the how the throttle acted after I got the slide is working order, and I notice that there is coolant coming from a small tube on the right side of the bike, located behind the radiator. It looks like a drain tube, and seems to be coming from the coolant bottle in the back. Could I have possibly blown a head gasket from running the bike about 3 mins (at low speeds) with a stuck slide, or is there something else I can look for ?
  13. I just ordered a kit do to a leakdown test. Ill check that as well.
  14. I like the idea of getting rid of the air box and just using 2 filters. Im not looking for any HP gain, just making the thing easier to work on. Can anyone suggest a filter ? Mainly ill be in dusty envirnment, and occasional mud puddles. Id really like to be able to stay away from filters id have to oil. It has a single K&N filter in the box right now.
  15. Update. I was told not to give the banshees any throttle when starting them due to flooding issues. However, i gave it the slightest bit of throttle and it starts on the first kick. It kind of makes since it dies instantly if you dont give it any throttle, how can it start without it. However, just the weight of your thumb on the throttle makes it seem the engine is reving up too high. You cant take off slow. I ordered a tors eliminator kit, should be here monday. Im hoping new throttle cables may help the issue. Anything else i can look for?
