  3. 50/50 split. Either they have no problem spending good money, or they want to know why everyone pays $200 for a new pwk when you can get copy of one off eBay for $69.95. My daily struggle. But... Since I've been getting back into 4poke stuff I'm here to tell you, them guys ain't much better. "you want me to pay you 8 hours shop labor to rebuild my 450 if I take the motor out of frame?" "Yeah bro, there 2,072 bolts in your 450 and a whole valve train that has to be sorted out" YouTube videos make it seem like it takes 10 minutes to rebuild a motor. Lol! 5. That is the drag of being a business owner on Facebook. I constantly have to watch what I say to people. I'm getting busy enough motor work wise, that I've started to turn away ATV maintenance work as I just don't have the time to do it. Most of the time I tell people they can bring it in, but it will be at least 2 weeks before I can touch it. That sometimes sends them off the deep end, and according to them, I'm an asshole and feel they are not worth my time. Things get taken out of context of misconstrued quickly on Facebook. It's like some people are on there just to ruin other people's day. This is the main reason I've kinda backed down off of alot of the pages. When people start pitting shop owners against each other and creating an environment where you are constantly defending yourself for no good reason at all... well, it kinda makes you want to pull the plug and just not give a shit about people.
  6. The only upside to Facebook selling, well for me anyways, is I can reach a huge audience very quickly. Prime example, I just posted a set of dune port cylinder I just finished up, with pistons and fresh bore to my facebook business page. Then I shared it to 3 other pages. in a half hour they were sold to one of my local customers who couldn't pass up the bargain, and now I'm having conversations with 2 other guys who want to send me core cylinders to do up for them. This... of course, is a abnormal occurrence... Most of the time when I post stuff up like this people kick the shit out of the tires, or tell me my price is too high. Then they tell me about their cousins, neighbors, uncles, dogs, grandfather who builds the baddest banshee motors on the planet. And proceed to send me pictures of them rebuilding a motor on a tire in some back alley somewhere. soooo.... I got luck tonight
  7. I have people that call me daily at the shop to ask questions Google or Siri could answer in 10 seconds. You are not alone in you wonderment. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

  9. I'm getting there... I spent a whole Sunday a couple weekends ago with my phone on "do not disturb" it was blissful!
  10. As a business, Facebook is an easy tool to use to cross post 1 item over many different pages. Lately I've really pumped the brakes a many of the pages though. Facebook has become a tool for the public to gain access to a direct line to me, any day, at any time. Which seems like a great idea... Until its Sunday and I'm trying to enjoy some family time or nap it out on the couch with the dogs and my phone wont stop. It has become a double edge sword that i constantly cut myself with...
  11. Powerline Performance offers cylinder resizing at a very affordable cost, and super quick turn around. $330 gets you both cylinders resized with brand new Wiseco pistons and free return shipping in the US. Average turn around time is 3-4 business days from day of receiving customers cylinders. Boring is done on a Kwik Way FWH small engine boring machine with a carbide cutter, cylinder is bored to 0.003 of finish size. The cylinder is then honed 0.002 with with a Sunnen JN hone and 150 grit stone, then finished the last 0.001 with 280 stone in same hone mandrel. Ports are then chamfered, edges are knocked off the top and bottom of the hole. You can find all the details on how to get your stuff to me and how to pay on my web store PowerlinePerformance.net

  20. Hello all, Kind of a new kid on the block... Powerline Performance is located in Woodland, WA and is a full service ATV and motorcycle shop. I specialize in dune-able pump gas banshee builds. My blue shop bike, along with quite a few PP motors have been spotted at many popular spots in the Oregon dunes. I am a dealer for all the popular brands of parts you are looking for for your banshee. Before you hit eBay for you next build hit me up first. My prices are reasonable and more then competitive in the SW Washington and Portland metro area. I also work on 4 strokes and road bikes and can get you all the parts and advice you may need. Little bit about the company and myself... Powerline Performance originally started in the automotive drag racing world in the late 90's as New Powerline Motorsports. I architected, built and tuned some very fast street and drag engines. Bike engines were something I always tinkered with but never took too serious. I started porting at a young age. Starting with 2 stroke dirt bike motors as a teen then worked my way up to race car cylinder heads. To help pay for my own race car needs I started buying street bikes and ATVs during the winter to fix and flip come spring time. After doing this for many years I started building a client base that had bought bikes from me and we're so impressed with how they ran they started bringing their other bikes to me for work and maintenance. Eventually I seen that doing work on other people's bikes was alot less risky investment for me every winter, and Powerline Performance was born as a spin off of New Powerline. As the years went on I sold off the race car and became a little more involved in the atv world focusing on newer fuel injection bike. 2 stroke stuff had grown pretty stale at that time. But... An idea had always floated around in my head, I wanted to build a banshee that was an all around bike. Something a pure 4stroke guy could get on and enjoy, and the purist 2stroke guy would embrace. It had to run on pump gas, it had to make 80+ HP and it had to be 100% dune-able. Took a few combos but we finally did it. The "shop shee" as it's been called by customers has been the calling card and sales billboard for my business the last few years. It sports a PP421-d low port timing Driveline cylinder motor that makes 83 HP and 44 ft lbs on 92 non-e pump gas. It can be ridden in any terrain the dunes offer and does not foul plugs... I can trail ride it, run thru technical stuff, and if a drag race breaks out it will keep up with most. I am currently working on shop bike #2 that will be a bit more aggressive. It will sport a 528cc cheetah. Main focus for this bike will be dune racing and should showcase my skills as an engine and bike builder. You can follow the process of this build on my Facebook page Facebook.com/Powerlineperform. Thank you all for your time, please hit me up if you have any question or need anything.
