  1. What about finding some off a vw dune buggy from back in the day. Or find a way to make jeep wrangler parts work. Think automotive instead of motorsports imo to withstand the abuse.
  2. one more thing, what kind of compression tester did you use when you got 115psi ? There are some major variances amongst those things so you could be closer to 90 psi on another compression tester. I'd find someone with a snap on compression tester or take it to a shop that has one and let them do a compression test on it. - 2 cents.
  3. What brand / type of carbs are on that thing? You sure they are stock? Sounds to me like you have different carbs on that thing if you're at a 190 main jet and it isnt lean as hell.
  4. Sandking - just wanted to say thanks. I put the Jets in you recommended and took her for a rip this past Sunday. It ran fantastic!
  5. I agree with this guy... there are variances amongst compression testers... Know anyone in the area who might let you borrow their snap on ? Or a shop you can pay a couple bucks to that will test it for you?
  6. test coil and check float levels on carbs maybe? just a thought.
  7. Looking for an "assortment" of jets so I can tune up my shee. I have a single 35mm PWK Keihin carb looking for pilot and main jets. probably starting around 45 for pilot and 185 for main and some options around that.
  8. Pics and price please, money waiting.
  9. Once again thanks sandking, I appreciate the help
  10. Rebuilding the top end of my banshee and I've heard with 2 strokes you don't have to worry about ring gap, even from major rebuilders / dealers. I'm used to four strokes and always had to worry about ring gap. Anybody who rebuilds these things all the time have an answer for me on it? Thanks!
  11. I stand corrected. DGK. I'll pick up an EEK or EEJ needle. Still dont know what to do about reeds. Here's what I got, I think its stock:
  12. My needle says DG. I don't know what to do about reeds, need advice
  13. Thanks sandking, I appreciate it. How do I tell if I have an eek or eej needle?
  14. OK. So I am doing a rebuild and its going to be .060 over with Wiseco pro lites. I also picked up a K&N filter with proflow adapter for stock airbox which is drilled with holes in it. I have stock reeds (should I replace these and how much are they) I picked up Toomey T5 exhaust (with silencers, the whole shot). The carb setup is a trinity 2 to 1 carb setup with a Keihin 35mm PWK carb attached. (I know its not ideal, but I don't have a big budget right now, just sold a house and lost my ass then bought another house). I am at about 580-600ft above Sea Level and ambient temps are around 75-85 degrees F. I'm looking to see if anyone can give me a baseline to work from in regards to jetting. Where to start. What pilot jet , main jet. I at least want to be in the ballpark and if anything error on the side of RICH than lean. I'd appreciate any help you guys can give. Thanks.
  15. I'd ride it for a couple hours IMO. then have another look. Plug chops to me dont always tell the whole story. It doesn't look as though you are running real lean, so go beat her up for a bit and have another look.
  16. Thats a great price! You're too damn far though! Good luck!
  17. Ok. 0.060 over weisco pro lite top end rebuild in progress. Picking up Toomey t5s , a k&n filter with adapter for stock airbox. Questions: 1. Should I get a set of reeds and which ones? Don't have a big budget at all for these. 2. What jets should I try to start with as a baseline for tuning? At 580ft above sea level. Around 80f and I run 93 octane
  18. Got what I needed! Thanks 2sTrokeLove! Ended up ordering a cable from Trinity cause I have their lousy setup
  19. I found mine on Amazon and it had really good pricing. Also, I am about to pull some 65.00 Wisecos out of my motor cause I need a top end rebuild and am going 65.5. Rings are garbage but the pistons are good. They have some build up on them, but other than that are in good shape.
  20. I have the stock air box and air lid, but want to put a high flow filter in there. Need the adapter plate too. Looking for something LIKE this: Also, this part broke on my throttle cable, so I am assuming I might need a whole new cable. Anyone have a good used one? Thank you!
  21. Lean IMO. I'd fatten her up and see how she responds.
  22. Lol. Thanks Zilla, now all i gotta do is fine silencers...
  23. Someone has a set of Chrome Toomey T5s for $280 shipped... I'd like to do better on pricing than that and could give two sh!#s if they are Chrome or not. Think I can do better than that or should I just face the music?
