  1. Friday you should be good, you have to get parking lot vouchers the night before or go on a standby list the day (on saturday and sunday)f, hard to judge how busy it will be and if this will be an issue or not. IF you are dune ready with your truck and take the truck and banshee out in dunes no need for the voucher and you can get in whenever you want. Just be sure to air down your truck tires and get all your stickers at the voucher center. Its a crap shoot on the loudness, I have seen people that are good with just sparkies and I have seen someone get turned away too. I do know they sell the hush kit up there just as a worst case. I know of one instance on a VW rail where the person at the check-in stand told the driver to go and add more disc to their super-trap end so it will pass the noise level, if you actually understand how these work you will realize how dumb this is, anyways that person did that and was not made to run a sound check the rest of the weekend. I think you will be fine with just sparkies.
  2. Sparkies are needed for sure, and just because its in your truck does not mean they will not check. I have seen them check quads in the bed for spark arrestors too. David Allen racing should have the sparkies though they are most likely not the cheapest place to get them, but its good to support that place as they do keep stuff in stock for when you need it. You may also have to worry about the noise, this is hit or miss on getting checked. I have not been checked all year and then got checked twice in 20 minutes another year. I would also plan on making or buying another flag mount, I have broke every stock grab bar flag mount I have attempted to use out there. A thick-ish plate with a u-bolt is good enough, you can buy those at David Allen also. I make my own that clamp on with split shaft collars.
  3. I have seen a few posts that those domes in particular (herr jug's) are not correct for what he does to the rest of the engine, any thoughts on that? Plan on pulling the head to see if there is any real damage to the pistons. If there is more then likely I am going to box the whole thing up and send it out to FAST or the like to get everything sorted out
  4. I am having the same issue with a 4 mil dune/play port Herr Jugs motor. Plan on checking the squish this weekend. I fully believe the domes need to be bigger on mine to run pump gas like it was suppose to be for. do you cc the domes with a plug in it or fill in the plug hole with some clay or the like? Have read else were that if you have an adjustable timing plate to check that and make sure it has not moved, I read that as an issue that can cause the detonation which makes the plugs back out.
  5. 46131 or Im 30 min. south of Indy between 31 and I-65. Have a few other people interested, I would have to look up shipping but it would probably make it not worth it to AUS.
  6. Have my old set of shocks for sale. Rear is I believe a stage 3 setup for the elka dual linkage (not included) I purchased it used from someone on here. It was supposedly setup for 225lbs dune riding. In useable condition but a rebuild would not hurt. Pictures were taken as it came off the machine. This measures 14 3/4 (or about) from eye to eye. Also have a set of stage one fronts (stock length) that were also purchased used, these are setup for a 225lbs mx, but with my +2+1 arms seemed like a good match to the back. These are also in useable shape and I do not see any signs of leakage but I will also say a rebuild would not hurt on these either. $300 OBO + shipping on the rear $200 OBO + shipping on the fronts Will sell as a set for a better deal.
  7. Are you planning on offering the spark arrestor setup once you figure out the best way to do it?
  8. I will move it and see, thanks for the info... What would you suspect if that does not resolve the issue?
  9. I am open to moveing the shifter on mine. I have this picture but not sure if you guys can tell its relation to the foot peg without a side picture. I will try to get a better one Its somewhat even with the top of the peg, which after reading your guy's comment seems like that is incorrect. It could also be why sometimes it seems I can get it with a tennis shoe on, like just messing around in the yard, vs when I actually ride with my mx boots. I thought it was just my imagination on that though. Also is shifter position even more critical with the EZ-shift spring and modded star, I have both these on mine. Also sorry for the somewhat Hi-Jack, though its at least about the same subject
  10. Good info, I have similar issue with mine only it has all new parts. Sounds like a cut trans is on my list now too.
  11. Try running them backwards, I had the same set on my banshee and they did pretty well like that in the sand. Never tried them like that on gravel though. Also maybe try lowering the air pressure but I am not sure what your currently at. I deflated mine until the V-shape was flat/even with the ground
  12. Devil Women Flags dwflags.com I have three or four of her's and they all look great and are made to last.
