  1. yeah with wellsville your gonna get flats from the rocks no way around it.some beadlocks might help keep your tire on the rim when it cartwheels down a hill, seriously.i would definately drop a tooth on the counter if you go with 22s.depending on the tire thats a big jump in weight for just a inch in clearance.hill climbing is a experience type deal, most people have found set ups over the yrs that work for them and not everyone else
  2. old post but i have heard of people using 660 shock on rear of banshee.might not be ideal but itll work until a more suitable replacement is found lol
  3. old post but i have seen fast guys run the banshees in the woods back in the day.Curtis Crump owns the track in these parts.Kim Kuhnle(?) also competed with a banshee back in the day.just because 450s are out doesnt change the effectivness of a well set up woods shee.might not be perfect option for everyone but us ol timers like smokers
  4. those cylinders rip once you get them set up.i had a banshee with those and a set of sst pipes.ran damn good imo
  5. anybody ever come up with alternative shocks other than the yfz or 700 rappy?
  6. thats sucks.sounds like a bunch of BS either way.a call or something would be nice.better get you another set of cylinders.Stop sending stuff out to "builders".My hobby my labor. Why pay some yo yo to mess up your cylinders? All so called builders learned some how.Aint no banshee porting school.Learn a little bit.Thats one of the problem of todays youth.People that never messed anything up never did anything.hopefully you hear something either way..
  7. i thought only us older guys use atf fluid in tranny?Usually the newer generation wont run it if their builder or "baldwin" or race team in "atv rider" says too.lol
  8. yeah super old post but i can give my opinion on these first hand. These cylinder rock for the money.Lots of midrange.im sure a cub set up will lay down more peak power and what not but if your into actrual riding and hill climbing and not just draggin then these will fit the bill to the "average' rider. No im not some kid 41 yrs of age and been into banshees for 20 yrs or more. The athena set up is a lot more rdieable than a hogged out stockers with drag porting.Obviously getting a set of stockers trail ported will be cheaper but if one sprang for the whole kit i wouldnt call it a waste of money.plus the nickasil coating will last longer than a steel bore.just shedding a little insight on what i have seen and experienced not what i read on the "internet".While theres a plethora of good info online theres also just as much bullsh** as well lol got fmf fatties and single carb on my athena set up..perfect for my riding.will pull 15t gearing with 20in razr rears
  9. go with the coolhead or have yours shaved.most bang for the buck is compression.appears to be lots of experts on here...lol
  10. yesh the later hub will fit.did it myself
  11. Flowtek is a stand up guy.It just seems that sometimes builders are chosen by popularity contests.Half of these so called banshee experts were nowhere to be found in the lates 80s or early 90s.Having a porting program doesnt make a tuner a good builder.A porting tool and a 12pk anybody can build a high rpm screamer.Every other month somebody is raving about someones new pipes or tuning on the forums blah blah.theres no banshee acc redited institution for performance, everybody learned from trial and error be it banshee zilla 250r etc..sorry for ranting...lol
  12. having tried prolly dozens of pipes through the yrs im on my 3rd set of pc pipes. For trail or hill climbing what have you i think they r a solid performing pipe.I guess they could be described as similar to a fmf fatty but a bit more hit in the mid imo. They rock on stock or mildly ported cylinders.never had a set on anything set up for drag..
  13. could be rich on the main.make sure you do 1 thing at a time.if you go changing things for the sake of changing or just stabbing in the dark you can spend forever chasing your tail.I had a banshee with the single carb set up do thae bog then hit like a ton of bricks.tried needles and clips positions and finally it seemed like i was back to jetting i already tried previously and it was fine ever since...go figure. If you arent prepared to tinker you cant own a banshee and mod it
  14. if it only idles with choke thats a dead give away ur lean on the pilot....usually.but banshees can be strange animals sometimes.make sure that crossover tube is in place between the 2 carbs and not cracked.check for air leaks in carb boots etc.
