  1. so I was out riding...obviously...and everything was great. my buddy was bringing he skid steer down to fix that track a lil bit. so i was dinkin around in the field. I was driving like normal, so im heading back down to the track and i shift all the way down but it feels like its bogging a lil. It won't shift out of 3rd or 4th gear. for some reason i can start out in 3rd....not easy or good on the clutch i know, but i had to get back. and i can only shift up to 4th. I just am guessing on the gears based on how it feels. but why would it only the two gears work? I can see blowing out one gear. but 4 gears? What can i do to fix this? in a perfect world id like to do this with out splitting the case....but i realize that probably wont happen. Ive never done tranny work before. Im tempted to take it to a shop, but that would be a lot of money that i dont have to spend.
  2. only once lol. It was graduation night and it was on an R6. Just didn't feel like getting a speeding ticket.
  3. okay. I know where he's coming from too. I live 5 miles out of a town of 800 people. The entire county doesn't even have a stop light. Odds are...i could take my atv and ride it around on the roads all day and never be seen. you might think the law itself is dumb. But do you really think running wasn't? why even take the risk when you can just ride in the ditch slow.
  4. you dont have an opinion. Your just playin the role of some punk little kid. Thats all. I think the name of this board pretty much sums up what you did.
  5. i think i explained the greater good thing. when someone dinks around like you do, it makes everyone look bad. You being a little piss head punk and running makes everyone who is into riding look just like you. It doesn't just make riders look bad, but it makes all 15 year old kids look like bad to that cop. And its not just there for money. If the one guy who gets a speeding ticket is really pissed off and goes and tells all his buddies. He, for sure will watch how fast he goes next time, but his friends will see what happened to him and think twice before speeding. Its kinda shitty that one person has to pay for everyone to get the picture, but thats the only way that works. If your not suposed to ride on the road DON'T. Its not complicated. I don't care if your a guy that lives a half a mile from a public trail. You load up your quad and drive it there, don't ride it. you're a loser
  6. I think you'd be fun to hit. lil punk "i never will stop" "i only ride with people who will run" so you only ride with losers and idiots...nice I'm a criminal justice major right now in college. Hoping to be a county sheriff, or state trooper someday. You are an idiot. There is a reason for laws. They aren't just around to piss you off. They are there to keep you safe, or for the greater good. Yeah, we'd be happy if we could all have really f**king loud pipes on our quads for the trails. But someone who owns the land that they allow you to ride on gets upset because they can't think because your so loud. You might get a ticket and not be able to ride the trails till its quieted down, you'll be upset. But its better than the owner of the land getting mad and the whole trail getting shut down for thousands of people. You riding on the road with an unregistered vehical is wrong. You don't have any of the lights or signals that a normal road bike would. You don't pay licensing fees. The bike itself is not built for the road. say a semi goes whizzin by and the big gust of wind that makes me shit my pants on my 1200 harley lowrider which is probably 800lbs, will really mess you up on a 250 that weighs about 200lbs. laws are there for a reason, there not just there so some guy can pull you over and ruin your day for fun. theres always a reason. You know you arn't suposed to be on the road. Which is why you ran. So why do it to begin with? and your a dick for leavin your friend by the way. Cock head!
  7. yeah, i just got back from the shed. a piece of the reed is broken off. and for the intake i was thinking of doing that actually. I was thinking super glue. What is a brand of that high temp silicone? Where can i find that...that seems like a good idea. I guess my biggest concern is weather or not the reed when it broke off fell into the case or up in the cylinder. I couldn't find the piece and i cant get it with a magnet obviously because it isn't metal. Would that cause any damage to the engine? Or is it just so delicate that it wouldn't bother anything bad? I really would like to get back to riding, i only have this week then its back to school so splitting the case really isn't going to make me to happy.
  8. I just pulled out the carbs and checked them out. Looks clean as hell. Couldn't be better, all the jets are clear and looks great. replaced both spark plugs and then checked compression. both cylinders are at 120psi. All i can think is that it would be a cracked reed valve. when idleing, it idles high, the left cylinder doesnt fire. the right one is fine. when you put your hand over the left exhaust it doesn't seem to be firing and it actually sucks on your hand like a vacuum cleaner. when you open the throttle more then both cylinders fire fine. Would this be from a cracked reed?
  9. id love to get a new intake. but i have absolutely $0 to spend. I plan on taking it down to the shed in a bit check the compression...see if anything is bad internally. Defiantly clean the plugs up. It could be possible that i got something in the carb. it was awfully muddy out and i have a k&n filter with no lid, but has the box underneath still. If something did get in...I can understand a high idle if its holding it open a bit. but why stalling? pluged jet?
  10. went riding with a friend from school today because it is spring break and 60 degrees in wisconsin for some reason.... but we had rode for a few hours everything was going fine and it was running strong. We were in a harvested soy bean field and skiming some water spots. all of a sudden i notice it was idling higher. I assumed it was because it was running lean. So I put my tank on reserve. nothing changed. The stupid boost bottle on it had split the rubber on the intake a little. It was like this all last year with absolously no problem. Its high enough up that the bottle covers it. I think that maybe somehow air started getting threw making it run leaner. Im not sure. I got it home...washed it up. then tried starting it. It would either idle high. Or if it idled right, it would stall. Whats really going on?
  11. its in madison, i wish i had money right now! but dont trust everything the guy might say....he thinks its an 82. but maybe he ment to type 92. who knows? just don't let him try to tell you a bunch of shit and believe it. used things are never as good as the seller says. and never look as good once you get them home.
  12. Hybrid redneck rally I love watching old two-strokes kick the four pokes asses. If you are in the area and got time come out and race some drags. lots of other fun things there too. should be a good time.
