  1. Oh yea I remember Matt! he actually did a rear shock for me years ago. Awesome work. Hope he is well.
  2. Simply price. I have two builds in process right now. One is my personal bike that's getting all the funds and nice goodies. The other is a fairly stock shee that I am simply trying to make look nice to keep as a back up or to sell. The shocks work fine, they are just beat up.
  3. Who can rebuild stock shocks? Not only the performance aspect but who can polish the bodies and powder the springs.
  4. Saw a pristine stock 06' SE black banshee for sale a couple weeks ago. Guy had it in storage for 12 years and it was never started unless to be moved. I wanted it but didn't want to drop $5500
  5. As the title states, I'm debating on getting back into the banshee game as a summer project. Basically building a shee from the ground up without a doner bike. I've got the chassis components almost figured out but the engine I have not. I don't want to start this project and find out later the engine is outrageously expensive. Essentially I'm just trying to figure out how much it would be to fill a set of empty cases with new OEM parts. Only talking about the bottom end here minus the crank. I'm gonna go with a 10mil 521 serval and already have a basic idea of what those components cost. I'm thinking about buying an engine stand and taking this project on for myself, as it would be a good learning experience. Offtopic: Who can I speak too about getting my username changed? I don't want to make a new account just to change names.
  6. I don't see anything that indicates that I can't order an oem frame. Looks like ~$700 from Yamaha parts house.
  7. If someone was in the market for a new frame and plastics that don't suck, what's their options? It looks like full bore is out so that leaves OEM?
  8. Well hello everyone! It's been so long since I've been on here. I remember browsing this forum every day after I bought my first banshee and later on posting a build log of when I took on a complete tear down and rebuild myself, I think I was probably 15 or 16 years old at the time. I ended up moving out of my rural hometown when I was 18 and ATV's took a backseat until now. This summer I'll be moving back to where I can ride again and I'd love to get back on a shee. I'm thinking about buying an OEM frame and building it from the ground up with aftermarket parts. In the meantime I still have my old stock 05' shee that's never been rebuilt, I rode the piss out of it for years and it'll still start within' 3 kicks after not being touched in ages.
  9. If I'm just cruising at say 1/4-1/2 throttle and then peg it, it hesitates just a little then builds rpm really slow. I'm probably missing out on alot of power should probably be at a 162-165 main.
  10. I'm running rich on top with the 175s but my bottom and mid range is great.
  11. My setup is about the same as yours except with 39pwks and i'm running 175 mains,50pilot,cel middle clip.
  12. I have some big 20 degree angled k&ns on right now, and the outerwears are melted from the pipes. but if the 2 airbox mount tabs or w/e weren't there then i could angle them where it doesn't touch the exhaust. I also had some small uni pod filters on it before and it cleared fine.
