  2. So I'm going about getting my banshee back on the trail and I need a new air filter. I currently have the k&n with the metal adapter plate, it's an oval shaped opening. Can I buy one of those Pro Design Pro Flow double layer foam filters and use it with the same adapter plate?   3. I might be interested in the stock exhaust system, if it's in great shape. I've developed mild tinnitus (permanent ringing in ears) and hyperacusis (extreme sensitivty to noise) over the past few years and really don't give a shit about the few horsepower loss going back to stock pipes. Any pics ?
  4. As far as the white sauce, I think I know what you're talking about, but I've never used it like that as a sauce in itself. The roux is essential in the meat/vege mix, it makes a nice "sauce" out of all of it. It not only brings all the flavors together, but it also kind of holds it together, rather than just a pile of loose meat and veges. It's used in all sorts of recipes, another I use it in is homemade mac n cheese. I saute onions in butter and garlic then add flour (making a 'roux) until at the desired thickness, then I add heavy cream and all the cheese. I guess the "real" way to make a roux is to mix equal parts flour and fat (butter) in a separate pot on low heat, then add slowly to whatever you're using it in, but I don't see many people do it that way. In the shepards pie I cook the lamb in one pan and drain well a couple times, lamb is much fattier than beef. Then in the other pan I get all the veges and garlic going in butter. Cook them for min or two , add some more butter than sprinkle flour in a little bit at a time until it's at the thickness I want, then add the meat. Assuming the meat was drained well, and you let it sit for 10-15 mins after pulling out of the oven, you can take a scoop of the shepards pie and the remainder won't "run" into the void. It kind of stands on its own, like a pie. Without the roux for the veges and meat, I imagine it would kind of crumble apart rather than being a nice thick mixture. You should really try it with some fresh garlic, especially in the mashed potatoes. I always use redskins and leave the skin on, tastes good, looks good, and the skins are full of good shit. Saute some chopped garlic in butter or olive oil and then you can add it to anything you're cooking. You can even make up a bunch, strain the garlic out, and then you have garlic oil. I do the same thing with fresh herbs that I grow as well.

  6. Traditional Shepards pie is made with lamb. Cottage pie is made with beef. American's love to make greasy disgusting casseroles with ground beef and mashed potatoes and call them shepards pie, its embarrassing. The key to making either version good is to get the carrots, onions, celery and fresh garlic sauteed in a bunch of butter, then add your roux. I just add flour straight into the mixture until I get the thickness I like, then add the meat Saute the veges too long and they are mush by the time it's done baking. You must drain the meat well before adding, or by the time you bake in the casserole dish the whole thing is swimming in grease on bottom. I like to add a layer of sweet corn on top of the meat/vege mix, under the mashed potatoes. Also set aside some of the sauteed garlic and butter and mix it in the potatoes while you mash them. Pull top off for 10 mins at end of baking to make a nice crust on top. Cooking is one of the few things I'm good at.

  9. My post wasn't an attack on Yamahaman/Griggs personally. He doesn't seem like the type of cop that would harass a guy over a half smoked joint on his toolbox, after just catching a burglar inside his workshop, in the first place. I was simply offering up an alternative to how the cop in Op's fictional story could have handled the situation. Rather than harass someone for a law it seems that he himself (yamahaman123) feels is as unjust as most of us do, (only assuming by his statement of "if you got a little weed hide that shit") I was just commenting that the cop can, and should, just look the other way, especially in the circumstances of Op's little story. I understand they are just doing their job, but at the same time it's totally within their rights, as a human being, to look the other way, arrest the burglar, and leave the guy and his half smoked joint alone. As a country we already have the most human beings, by far, locked in cages with corrupt men profiting off of their incarceration with the everyday joe paying for it. We really don't need anymore, especially over small time personal use pot possession, its ridiculous. Imagine being viewed as a criminal and a threat to society for drinking a couple beers in your garage while wrenching in your banshee? Insane isn't it? I don't think Griggs took my post personally, but if he did, sorry.

  14. i used to ride at Jessup all the time before we found out about trevorton years ago been to carbondale as well havnt been up that way in years.. we did quite a bit of riding at at jessup/olyphant maybe ill head up this spring to checkout some new territory thanks for the invite

  16. thanks for the info but thats a looong way away if i was to do a weekend trip - its trevorton , i cant imagine a better place to trail ride and explore im lookin for a place thats close enough to do day trips
  17. yes , im about ~15 miles from Easton PA im not looking for anything better, or that would even come close to shamokin/trevorton area - thatd be tough im just lookin for somewhere else thats closer (and legal) to ride around and have some fun even if its a bit of a drive from easton, no big deal, its just that 110 miles each way to trevorton is a bit much to do every time you wana go riding shit i just realized it was you zach, after i posted that. where you been riding these days ?
  18. Anyone have any decent, legal/legit, places to ride in any of these Pennsylvania counties? I've been out to coal country area (trev/shamokin) many times in the past, but at ~220 mile round trip, its a bit much for a day trip when you just wana do a little riding. My banshee has been severely neglected this past year and is dying to have the shit beatin out of it. Thank you for reading.

  20. thats not even a good price to be honest, $.30 an ounce for "poulan 2 cycle oil" you can get a quart (32oz) of one of klotz oils for $12-13, about $.40 per ounce run the klotz at 32:1 or 40:1, and its cheaper than running poulan at 24;1 and obviously much better quality oil for your banshee.. no brainer
  21. the quality of construction, and it even seems like materials, are just much better on PRM products, they really are there are tons of companies that make 1/4" skidplates, but it seems most of them use shitty soft aluminum , ive had skidplates that said they were the same grade of alum. but some are noticeably softer than others, the biggest problems with most of them are that the eyelets where the bolts hold it to the swingarm, tear out, then youre screwed, i have re-inforced the eyelets on skidplates of mine in the past with steel brackets, stopping the eyelets from blolwing out when you hit something hard, and they last much longer, but the PRM just seems to be built better than any ive seen, and uses a very hard/tough grade of alum. as far as the linkage coverage, your linkage is already there, the 1/4" skidplate hanging over it might lose you 1/2" of ground clearance, but riding on rough terrain, anyone should be used to putting their tires on the big rocks, you never run over large objects in the center of your frame unless its an accident, the skidplate is there as a last resort.
