  1. Might consider trades for a running YFZ in decent condition. $3500 is FIRM - it's a fun enough bike that I'd rather keep it than sell for less. I don't frequent the board much anymore so if interested just email me @ mbg.dixon@gmail.com $10k invested but want a new toy. Oil changed after every trip, only 2 seasons on rebuilt engine. Runs flawlessly. 1st kick start everytime. 2001 if that matters 4mm Wiseco stroker longrod crank Dune port and polish by Custom Creations PWK carb +2 Lonestar swingarm with Honda-style carrier +2 Lonestar axle Lonestar sprocket hub TCS suspension Stainless brake lines Magura hydraulic heavy duty clutch with upgraded basket, springs, etc. Billet water pump, inline cooler, and clear radiator hoses Trailtech lights & 200w Ricky Stator. Converted to DC to run HID's or just run lights with the bike off Adjustable timing plate (currently at +4 to run pump gas) Dark blue powdercoated frame has been reinforced in key weak areas Toomey T5 pipes Renthal bars Black Maier plastics (okay condition, was planning on getting silver plastics) Gripper seat cover Brand new rear holeshot tires on Douglas red labels. Fronts have about 50% tread left. Nerf bars (not pictured but included) PRM baja bumper Various billet pieces here and there
  2. This has been a great bike but need a YFZ to putt around with next to the kid. Very fast but very smooth power delivery for a Banshee. I built it with reliability and usability as my primary goals. I tried to keep the swingarm stock when I built the engine to avoid changing the handling but I just couldn't keep the front end down, even in 4th. Turns out a +2 swingarm works perfectly and doesn't kill the handling. $3500 4mm Wiseco stroker longrod crank Dune port and polish by Custom Creations Stock head cut to accept added stroke, nice cuz it makes the bike look stock - a total sleeper Currently running single PWK carb (helps mid-range, throttle response, and allows me to change my jetting with the weather) Also have a 2nd PWK carb that is included, but no dual carb manifold. Single just works really nice so its been that way for ages. +2 Lonestar swingarm with Honda-style carrier +2 Lonestar axle Lonestar sprocket hub Eibach rear shock rebuilt by TCS Stainless brake lines Hydraulic heavy duty clutch with upgraded basket, springs, etc. Billet water pump, inline cooler, and clear radiator hoses Trailtech lights & 200w Ricky Stator. Converted to DC to run HID's or just run lights with the bike off Adjustable timing plate (currently at +4 to run pump gas) Immaculate dark blue powdercoated frame has been reinforced in key weak areas Toomey T5 pipes Renthal bars Black Maier plastics (okay condition, was planning on getting silver plastics) Gripper seat cover Brand new rear holeshot tires on Douglas red labels. Fronts have about 50% tread left. Sand tires in pics are not included. Need those for the YFZ. Nerf bars (not pictured but included) PRM baja bumper Various billet pieces here and there email @ mbg.dixon@gmail.com for faster response.
  3. I picked up a used 35 PWK Air Stryker on ebay and then made my own graydon style intake (better design than trinity IMO). Total cost for everything was less than $100 start to finish. Just gotta watch ebay for the deals - the carb was only $80. Also I'd definitely agree about the proper jetting. A single that's setup right will have 95% of the top end of a perfectly tuned dual carb setup. Since getting perfect tuning on a single carb takes 1/10th the time as it does on duals, most people will actually gain performance since they're more likely to spend the time with the jetting.
  4. I can vouch for Justin here - boy takes care of his shit. His bike running those cylinders easily killed my wife's mildly modded YFZ (by about 10+ bike lengths going up Olds). That's with me riding, not my wife.
  5. I disagree. Just because you've got some extensive porting doesn't necessarily mean you want to run a top end only pipe. I personally can't stand the power delivery on shearers, CPI's, etc. I built my motor for all-around performance and am quite happy with the way it turned out - T5's and all. My builder specifically told me not to run T6's with the porting he'd done. T5's are the better buy in my opinion.
  6. Basically unless you're a dragger it's a really good mod. The only time I'd recommend dual carbs is when somebody is trying to get every last possible horsepower out of their bike. So in other words, 98% of shee owners should be running a single carb.
  7. You would have had better handling out of a 10" wheel.
  8. How much dragging vs. how much duning? For mostly duning, I'd go with a +2 or maybe a +4. Most people say that a +4 is as big as you wanna get for a duner. For paddles, how damp is the sand there? If it's usually high on moisture, go with a 8 paddle, for dryer conditions, 9 might be better. Odaen - there's no reason to run 10 paddle extremes on any shee that isn't set up for full drag (Cub, alky, +8 (or more) swinger, etc.)
  9. A stock bore/stroke/jug shee will never need anything more than 8 paddle haulers. The only caveat is if you've got a really short drag (3rd gear and below) you might add ONE paddle. So now do what everyone else does on here and order those 10 paddle extremes.
  10. The best place for it is in the receptacle located just next to your workbench. This could be bypassed by just running it out to the dumpster directly.
  11. Unless you're drag racing go with a single carb. I made the intake myself and got a used 35pwk off ebay. Cost was under $100 for everything.
  12. I've got a brand new +2 galfer if you're interested. I installed it but didn't like how long it was on my +2 roundhouse so took it back off. Never had fluid in it and I'll ship it with new washers. PM me with an offer.
  13. Could be the jetting is off or a plugged jet too.
  14. I'm 99% sure I'm running 15/43 gearing. As long as I took off SLOW in 2nd I'd beat the 450's. They'd always get me off the line but soon as I hit 4th I'd come up on them like they were parked there. The more modified ones I couldn't catch by the top of the hill however. Course I'm also running sand stars so not exactly the best drag tire. The new swingarm should help... Custom Creations is 909-388-2887 and is located at 2420 E. 3rd St. Highland, Ca. 92346
