  1. Used loctite and tapped the nipple back in. I let it sit overnight and cranked it this afternoon. I was only able to ride it around my small yard in first gear, but it didn't leak or come loose. I think that fixed it. I will go for a real riding session in a couple weeks and let you know if it comes loose again or leaks. Thanks again for the info.
  2. Got the nipple fitting in the freezer right now. Going to pick up the loctite in a few and put it back in today or in the AM. Thanks again for all the advice. When I get a chance to ride again I will report the results.
  3. Thanks guys. That is good news. Thanks again
  4. My 2006 banshee has keihin carbs. They were on it when I bought it. I was told they are 28s bored to 30s. I was riding today and when I stopped I noticed gas pouring out of the quad. I looked and found where the main fuel line from the tank had came out of the right carb. The fuel fitting on the outside of the carb had came out do the carbs body. It looks like a press fit tube with a barb end that just came out when the press/interference fit failed. Has anybody see this before? What's the best way to fix it? If I put some type of locktite on it and tap it back in, will that work? Thanks for any help or info.
  5. I know this is an old thread, but I just solved this problem. I re-learned the lesson to not forget the simple stuff. My Banshee had been idling high and it just started out of the blue a couple months ago when I first posted this thread. I never could figure it out, so I took it to a friend's shop. He figured it out in less than 30 seconds while I was still telling him the story of how it started. The throttle cable at the thumb throttle assembly had somehow tightened up on its on. I guess through vibration. Anyway, the thumb throttle had no play at all. He loosened this and gave it about a 1/4 inch or less of free play and it instantly solved the problem. As you can see from the quote below, toytech said to check this in the first reply to my question. This site is great for help like this. I did actually call my self checking the throttle cable, but I guess checking it isn't much good if you don't know how it should be. When it didn't stick, I assumed it was good. Anyway, got it straight now and just wanted to update the thread. Thanks for everyone's help and time.
  6. OK guys. Thanks for the info. I'll check those things out. Thanks again.
  7. The air filter didn't get wet. It may be the throttle cable and slides. Unfortunately I had to leave the quad at my parents house. I had to get it out of the garage, so I had to leave it at my parents house a 4 hour drive away. Would running it with a leaner mixture likely make the slides stick? What about the leakdown test? Would running it with a leaner mixture hurt the rings and make it idle high? Again, thanks for any help and info.
  8. I have a 2006 banshee that is stock other than CPI pipes and 28mm Keihins bored to 30mm. This is how I bought the quad. I have had it about 9 months. It has always ran good without any problems until this weekend. I ran the quad for about 30 minutes on Friday. I ran it relatively hard, and it ran fine as always on Friday afternoon. The gas in it had been in the tank for a couple months, and it had Stabil in it also. I topped off the fuel tank on Saturday morning with what I thought was the same batch of premix. It was supposed to be 93 octane pump gas with Klotz Techniplate at 32:1. Again, it ran fine the day before on this same gas. Saturday the bike didn't seem to smoke at all after it got warm, but it smoked some on Friday even after being warm. After running it about 5 minutes on Saturday it began to idle really high and act kind of unusual, so I immediately shut it down. I'm beginning to think the fuel I added on Saturday must not have been premix. I drained the tank and refilled it with fresh premix I ran the quad again, and this time it did smoke a little(the same amount I thought it smoked Friday). But, it continues to idle high, something it never did before Saturday. It runs fine otherwise, and has its normal power. But it continues to idle really high. Any ideas? If I ran it without premix, I know it would have damaged the rings and bearings, but why would it still be idling high? Thanks for any info or help.
  9. Has anybody had any work done by Outlaw Performance in Tampa, FL? I contacted a site sponsor, TDR, for a catalog and asked if they build banshees also. I just recently moved to Tampa, and they recommended Outlaw Performance. Thanks for any info.
  10. Just round off the points of the star? I'll take a look at it and give it a try. Thanks for the info.
  11. I am thinking about doing some simple mods to my trans. It shifts OK, but if I could do some simple mods to make it better, I would. I searched the forums for info about shift star mods, shift rod and shift detent mod. I am also thinking about replacing the clutch because it seemed to slip a little on shifting the last time I rode. I had adjusted the clutch cable out. The clutch didn't slip before this, so maybe I had just adjusted it too far. If I replace the clutch, who makes the best clutch for a basically stock banshee? Also, my main question is is a modded shift star, modded shift rod and shift detent roller bearing worth it? If so, who makes the best ones? Thanks for any help or info you can give me.
  12. Got the C clips down with a srewdriver and small hammer. Now the problem is I have it installed just like the directions say and the same as the pictures earlier in this thread, but is has about a 1/4 inch loose gap and the axle slides back and forth. Any suggestions? Wonder if RockyMountain will take it back. Unless something changes my mind, I am pretty unhappy with it right now.
  13. Thanks for the info on the C clips. I'll give it a try.
  14. Yeah, I think I have everything is the right position. I'll try the screw driver method. Thanks for the help.
  15. Anybody with the Tusk axle on here that can tell me how they got the C clips into the groove? Thanks for any info or help.
