  1. Heading out Friday Halloween and back on monday. Camp in wash 10 and ride south of everyone. we ride for hours without crossing more then 3 or 4 people. When you ride at olds and gecko it will be a zoo. But plenty of area to ride.
  2. I love these topics. I will probably catch a little crap for this but....... I have owned both, will continue to buy both. My yfz 450 is the bike i ride at the cinders, mx track, even the dunes. I dont ever break anything, its got electric start, i can use pump gas on long rides (crown king). My banshee is a hill monster and can smoke 98% of the four strokes. BUT...... I need to work on it a bunch. And its only used at the dunes. I know that you can work on the banshee and fix it for the type of riding you do, but if you take a stock banshee vs a stock 450 from any manufacture it will get destroyed at an mx track and majority of the trail races. Fire away boys!
  3. True...........But thats why i have the hill bike. 70-80 hp and you might be able to wheelie, but with you wont be passing me, you will have a good view of my back!!! I never thought about building another 4 mil for a duner but now I need to rethink my strategy. I planned on a 370, but im not so sure now. I already have the suspension in the garage, just need the bike to throw it on....
  4. I finished the 4mil hill shooter. And after thousands i want to build a duner banshee now. I sold the YFZ450 and plan to build a nice duner. My first goal is reliability. I have the 4mil that i get to work on and tinker with. I'm looking for suggestions from the guys who have built reliable bikes for the dunes. I say this becuase many a banshee are not reliable! I'm thinking 370 long rod, Toomey pipes, V-force Reeds and intakes, possibly some pwk's. +2+1 arms and +2 axle, Not sure on the swinger length. At most +2. I'd like to ad 3 lights 2 in the stock with flood and 1 handle bar spot. so a stator rewind is due. Shoot me some ideas!
  5. Go on Craigslist and buy some cheap set of paddles. If you had a four stroke its not so bad. My 450 does just fine in the sand without paddles, but i wouldnt ride my banshee without them. You will spin and spin and spin. Dont forget this will create more heat.
  6. I need to find my camera and upload my pics. did you guys see the tow truck with the rotating stage on it? Yes it was very hot out. Im surprised some of the ladies dresses with so much clothes!
  7. Any of you guys Hill race? Im assuming flat drags and hill will have a tremendous difference in sprocket size. i have a 15 front and 45 rear and thiking of putting on a 46.
  8. I noticed the ring around the moon too! Crazy looking. We were camped in Wash 4-5 and it was a ghost town. We had some friends camp at Gecko and it was the usual crowded gecko, however i did see plenty of open parking on the street. Day time was hot as hell though. I wasnt ready for that. I bet this weekend has the same amount of people.
  9. We were out this weekend Thursday Night through monday. Camped in Wash 5 rather then our usual wash 10. It was a ghost town. Not a camp closer then 2-300 feet. I couldnt even hear generators running. The hill and drags was pretty crowded especially Saturday at olds. We got tons of riding in. It was pretty strange camping out by the fire and it being dead silent. Most of the vendors were not even set up until saturday morning. Great trip though. Looking to see if anyone got any pics? I dont know how to post mine.
  10. did any of you guys need to add some more gear when you switched. I went up one tooth, and i dont believe that was enough.
  11. Just got back from glamis. Wow Alky! I will never change the bike back to gas. I need to add another tooth to the rear sprocket. Up the hill i could use one more now with the change. Now if only i could lose about a 100 pounds i could actually compete with the 135 jockeys at the hill. What about reading the plugs? I ran about 7 gallons through it, and it ran great. I would like to know what im looking for in the plugs. Anyone have any good tips on purging? Easy kits etc.
  12. Im down to one set. 21x12x8 6 paddle. douglass blue label, no scratchs, no dents. Perfect Condition. If you give me emails i can send them right now. I have a set of 20X10X8 10 paddles haulers that i would probably trade for a nice set of V paddles or something.
  13. Nobody needs any banshee parts? Well at least stop by and grab a beer!!!!
  14. I had my shop who built the motor make the conversion for me. They setup the domes and the jetting, so it should be close! I hope!
  15. Just finished swapping over to alky. I will be in glamis this weekend racing the hill. I would like to see some other folks 4mil setups. Gearing, tires, carbs, etc. First time on Alky as well! Should be fun until i break it! Feel free to post your setups that have worked. I need some comparisions to see where im at compared to everyone else. I have a white Duramax with a Texas longhorn flag!
